  1. I googled (funny how googled isn't a word on GOOGLE chrome. ) Composers forum or Composition forum about a year ago, because I knew there had to be something for people like us ? ;D I was a bit active during November-January. Took a break and now I'm back for good!

  2. Excellent piece! Are you a violinist / violist? I just tried this piece on the violin; it falls naturally under the fingers. Musically it was very evocative of the wind shaking trees. Was the choice of "F Major" on purpose? You know, F Major and D Major are both considered 'hunting keys' because many hunting songs were composed in those keys. And the hunt is usually associated with autumn.

  3. Great! I'm no string player, but it looks like you wrote something that is comfortable to play because of the many open strings. Do you plan on writing a collection of pieces? This works very well as an etude (either for you the composer or the performer). Just be careful of collisions in the score, like the crescendos that run into notes or the slurs that touch the triplet labels.

  4. "All students enrolled in high school for Fall 2010 are eligible to compete for the Project 21 Prize for Music Composition." That'd rule out a great amount of YC members - including myself

  6. I like the way the call and response goes bettween the flute and Violins. This is definitly film music. Try putting more emphasis on the melody
