  1. I find this question slightly misleading and overgeneralizing. I have to assume, given the wording and the context of this website, that "Music Theory" refers to Western Tonal Music. This is a major overgeneralization, since Western Tonal Music is such a minuscule fraction of all the music ever created on Earth. I almost ALWAYS consider musical theories when I compose music, and simultaneously, I ALWAYS use my inner ear, the musical ear. But only every now and then is the theory I try to apply Western and/or Tonal, so I responded moderately to this post.
  2. Voice leading and counterpoint are easy. They are skills which can be learned. Harmonizing a melody, at least for me, is also easy. But--in the words of John Corigliano-- there is NOTHING more difficult than writing a beautiful melody. Just my two cents. Still, study voice leading and counterpoint if you haven't, lol.
  3. I think you are looking far to into this. I'm just proposing a marketplace where trading can occur, but is not enforced. This might encourage the exchange of higher quality material, jobs that people would like done. For example, if someone wants something "sequenced" that requires a lot of effort, this type of event would most likely not be performed as a free job on this site. The solution would be an exchange or a trade. Other ideas would include: composing music for a video game/movie lessons adding a drum sequence to a midi recording midi into an mp3 using sound samples The above are just examples of services that are not done on this site for free, or these services can be done at a much higher quality level if they were paid jobs.
