  1. I'm with aquatunic there. I prefer Finale, but either one of these (Finale and Sibelius) are overall much better than any free software that's out there. Bothe programs allow midi entry and a ton of other features that are often absent in these free programs. The fact that they felt the need to manipulate viewers by not using midi entry in the other programs as they did with theirs says to me that their program doesn't have any other outstanding features and probably isn't worth the time if you have money to spend on better software. Otherwise, Noteflight will serve you just fine.

  3. Might work, but would all kind of exercises be in the same category ? Piano, Chamber, Orchestral, Band even rock bands ? also who would decide which one is an "exercise" and which one not ? the same guy who wrote it ? don't trust very much on the self-critic of the composer, because many would say thier work is already good, and they'll post it in the "non-exercise" category, and maaaybe probably possibly one very rare composer will post something very good but due to his humility will consider it an "exercise".. Keep talking about this and if this is indeed a necessary category I'll tell chopin.

  5. i have finale and i can set up a document MUCH faster than they did on the video so it was probably exaggerated. and you can play notes on a piano to put it into finale, and you can probably do the same on Sibelius. in the end its still up to the preference of the composer. i prefer finale, my teacher prefers Sibelius. some may even prefer noteflight. but if scorecloud is free there is probably some kind of downfall, like... is there options for different instruments, or what about adding articulations? can you playback? maybe the video really was exaggerated to make scorecloud win. maybe scorecloud really is better. but i doubt that someone would put in the effort to make something better than finale or sibelius, and then just allow people to download it for free. but i've never heard of scorecloud (and i did a lot of research on which program to get before i got my first one) and i feel like as hard as i looked i probably would have found it before i decided to buy finale. if your looking for free software you can give scorecloud a try or just use noteflight where you can easily share anything you've made.

  6. It is indeed the most strange text about Brahms I ever read one. If I were a concert organizer, I would reject such text to be put in the concert paper.

  7. He obviously doesn't like Brahms, but that isn't what bothers me (but let me just say for the record I love the music of Brahms). What bother's me is that a musicologist/historian should know better. It's like breaking an oath of conduct in the legal or medical field, his credibility is just thrown out the window.
