Hallo my friends! In these days some of you have been uploading works for the Shakesperean YC-summer competition. They are all amazing. I'm surprised how a general theme provides inspiration for so different musical approaches. I still have to listen to some of them (some are large works). Meanwhile, I bring here a little nocturne. Usually, I write music at nights, I like it, and if I don't feel sleepy, I prefer to stay up and do something. This nocturne is in the simple form AA' with a brief transition in the middle.
  2. This is one of rare examples in Slovenian literature for euphonium. It is neoclassical concerto with all neccessary features: sonata form, easy-to-follow motifs, transparent orchestration and, frank, even clear tonal centre G major. I was a bit inspired by Hindemith's "Gebrauchmusik" since there is not enough concertos for euphonium to venture into experimental world of art (which is, frequently, terrible for ears and mind as well).

This is a short piece based on a nonatonic scale (which has no specific name): C - C# - D - E - F - F# - G - A - B The harmony comes from the combination of the notes of the scale, don't expect "normal" chords. Now I'm working in the second part of the "suite" using this scale.
