  1. I tried combining Hans Zimmer's style with Sawano Hiroyuki's for this one. The theme surrounds itself around battling an Efreet (or Ifrit), i.e. an evil spirit. This is, for now, still a work in progress I'm stuck on unfortunately. But please let me know what you guys think of it :) EDIT: It's finished!

  2. After several months of off-and-on work, I finally completed my sonata for clarinet and piano. I have been extraordinarily busy at work, and so my revision process has been unusually long, though it is done now. I posted the first movement (in a less refined form) a while ago, and I received some great feedback on it. I am hoping to get it performed in the spring, and I am excited to hear what you guys think. Happy New Year!

  3. Hey all, this is actually my first post, I'm sure there'll be lots more to come since going in to a job has made me increasingly desperate to search for any opportunity to spend my time on music and with musicians. This is a short science fiction movie trailer piece I wrote when I was in school. I had a lot of ideas at the time but far less definition than I do now, so if you could give any explanations as to what makes certain parts of the piece work, particularly where dissonance is concerned, and how to make other parts better, I'd be really grateful. Thanks! (oh and headphone warning, I'm not sure whether I mixed this thing back when I exported it so the very start might make you jump, other than that it should be fine)

  4. This is a ukulele song I made up. I used a finger picking style, not the usual ukulele strum. I wrote it on my real uke and then transferred the notes one by one using a virtual instrument ukulele into the Sonar 8.5 piano roll. I then filled it out with an arrangement using other virtual instruments.

  5. My friend is making a fantasy themed Broforce-like game, yet when I gave him fantasy tracks he said its lame, and that he wants real music. I wanted to impress him with this piece I made as a final boss battle that is a mix of the two other boss battles and the victory theme. Woulod like to hear your feedback. *It's made of opening, loop, and ending+victory, you don't have to listen to every single part, the loop is the important one.

  6. I love it, you've got a very interesting way to insert unique things like the shadow twin voice (great detail to pan it, really reminded me of a conversation between the shadows). What Percussion library did you use? As a beginner too, I work with the Kontakt Factory Library and some free stuff I found online but I didn't find cheap Percussion library yet ^^

  7. Hi guys, I composed this short piece imagining it could be the background music for the main menu of a sci fi/horror videogame. What do you think? Soundcloud link EDIT: I uploaded the track here

  8. Hi, I'm a composer student from Spain. I would like to present my composition for my own video. I'm in a project to create videos and music during my year in Helsinki. Im not hapy at all about the quality of the sound, but anyway, this is my video:

  9. Surely have alot of those in my Minecraft chest XD I think that it could be a good background music for the scene you described, although I'd have added a reverb effect to most of the instruments. It's repetitive, which means two things: 1. Bad thing- You won't be able to present it as a standalone. Hearing just this would be boring (but, again, it could be a good soundtrack. 2. Good thing- You can also use it as a computer game soundtrack :D I wonder if there's a game when you play the helicopter and have to get agents form place to place...

  10. Please develop the piece more since it seems to lead to nowhere. Also, the sixteenth notes followed by a sixteenth rests in many of the bars could be substituted by a staccato eighth note. I don't think it's necessary to complicate things

  11. This is meant to be a small scene, flying over the ocean towards the final destination (final boss if you will). During the last seconds, the plane closes in on the enemy.
