  1. Lately we talked about destruction of music, etc... Well, I did this piece.

  3. I really like it. One of the main features is the constant modulation, which is always smooth. That makes it interesting. There is also a clear structures with a balance in the parts (quicker, slower).

  5. Fantastic! I think the 'Strange mix of instruments' you mention actually work perfectly fine as far as I can tell. I like the composition a lot too, it's dynamic enough that it never gets boring to listen to, but not so dynamic as to capture the focus, which I find important in "Videogamey music" as it's meant to supplement the gameplay and not distract from it (unless it's a very key moment or cutscene of course). The mixing is also very reasonable I'd say. All in all I think if I heard this track in a video game (I imagine it would fit into a 2d platformer or side scroller perfectly) it would certainly stick in my mind long after setting the controller to rest.

  6. The vocal trill at 0:08 sounds off. That sounds physically impossible to sing. It makes it really obvious that it's not a real singer. The harp is drowned out by the organ. Maybe move it up an octave? This could also fix the lack of high frequencies pointed out by Battlegun. The organ sounds massive compared to the rest. I would cut some of it out with EQ.

  7. @jnalanko Actually I thought about writing in this scale a while ago, but not many of my compositions have this "Arabic" kind of sound, mainly because here the pop musicians ruined the whole genre, so it has a bad connotation in my mind. I do use Phrygian once in a while though. I think that you did a good job here, could easily fit under many kinds of games. This mix of sounds keeps the game's soundtrack, although static as a game score should be (unless you have a way to show the player's action in music, take a look at Journey) interesting enough to be heard for a long time. Like in Celeste. I think.

  8. Not a seasoned composer so just some fragmented thoughts from me while listening to the music: 1. Nice variations of colours with the motif ongoing in the background 2. Some parts sound inspired by the soundtrack of Interstellar - not a bad thing 3. The constant use of an accented first two beats in the bar through the beginning till 1:50 can get a bit tiresome to listen to though (unless you intend it to a motif in itself?) 4. Contrary to Luis, I quite like the density of the climax 5. The title and the music do reflect each other, but only in the sense that they are both sci-fi-ish Good job overall, this would be great as a movie soundtrack (I gather that you are doing this?)! I would listen to it multiple times. By the way, what sound set is this?
