  2. Hello everyone, there is the 3rd movement of my piano concerto in A minor. I posted few months ago the first movement and I'm glad to present you the last one. I worked a lot on the orchestration for this movement and I'm also happy to see my improvements in harmony since the previous movements. What are your thoughts ?

  6. There were nice little touches when the piano and melody went to different scale degrees at the end of a phrase. The sparse use of percussion (esp. timpani) seemed a little strange, and didn't really complement the vibe, at least for me. Seemed like it was their to prime the audience as it being dramatic, and then end it the same way, but I actively had to make that connection; it wasn't really there inherently.

  7. I definitely got Christmas vibes from this! I could picture this going nicely in a film. I think that sometimes when you have the violins doubling the piano melody, it seems a bit redundant to me. But that's mainly my own preference. Nice job!

  8. What's the etude factor here? Also, please do consider reviewing other works on here as well. We're not here *just* for people to get exposure.

  9. Very tender and emotional! Easy listening but clearly from the heart. There's something to be said for honest writing like this. Thanks for sharing!

  10. Wonderful meeting everyone! My name is Jason Woodruff. I am a 39 year old composer, entrepreneur, and business man from Indianapolis, IN. I've been composing since I was 12, played viola since I was 11, and piano since I was 20. I studied composition at the Chicago College of Performing Arts under Drs. Garrop and Choi. My music is rather personal to me -I consider it an extension of myself. Some of my influences include Mozart, Beethoven, Gubaidulina, Stravinsky, and Schoenberg (with a bit of his pupil Webern). While my music is modern -I tend to consider myself more of a traditionalist. My music focuses on motivic development -with most of my works being built around a brevity of material. Counterpoint is also an important component of my works. At any rate, I'm horrible talking about myself.

  11. Very imaginative. I'd love to see a score of this. The music definitely helps bring out what the narrator is saying. Can't wait to see more of these!
