  1. I'm going to post all my piano compositions in chronological order. Numbers 7, 8, 11, 13 and 15 are the best ones in my opinion. 1.-Compositions from youth. (I wouldn't even call this music) 2.-Random piano piece. (Modern I guess) 3.-Variations on a theme (Second piece I show in the video)(Classical) 4.-Katyusha (Variations)(Romantic/Virtuoso) 5.-Musical experiment. (Modern) 6.-Portrait of a dahlia. (Modern) 7.-Memories. (Romantic with jazz) 8.-Invention in D minor. (Canon)(Baroque) 9.-Crab canon. (Modern) 10.-Videogame experiment. (Modern) 11.-Feline Night (Jazz) 12.-Chromatic practice. (Experiment)(Modern) 13.-Elegía moderna. (Modern) 14.-Consonantn't vals. (Experimental/mixture) 15.-Portrait of a deaf man. (Modern/Romantic) If you liked or you have some advice please leave a coment. If I see people show interest I will post my other works.

  2. As I was listening to these, I probably said, "This guy is good," at least a half-dozen times. You definitely have an understanding of the subtleties of composing for the instruments in these videos, likely others, too. The counterpoint studies were especially impressive! But I enjoyed each one of them in their own right (Anger was probably my favorite—I love the use of quartals harmonies). Fantastic, Ivan, just fantastic. I'm looking forward to enjoying more of your stuff! I realize you're still experimenting with finding "your own voice," but, in my opinion, you're doing very well. P.S. I noticed some Catalan sprinkled in some of the scores. Pretty cool language. Cheers!

  3. Your ostinati/melodies clash via parallel dissonance and because they're so prominent it takes away from the harmonic aspect of the voice leading.

  4. This sounds all right to me! I wonder, though, if at that key change you could be a little more drastic... what about adding a dark electric pad or something, increasing the tempo, throwing in some sixteenth notes or triplets...? You can keep the same ostinato rhythm—which I liked a lot, by the way—and simply add some more dynamism to it. Just my $0.02.

  5. Hi, Here a Waltz I wrote last week. Because of the mood I named just Spring Waltz. It's written for a late classical period orchestra: 1Piccolo, 2Flutes, 2Oboes, 2Bb Clarinets, 2Bassoons, 4Horns & Strings. I added also Glockenspiel and Vibraphone, because I like its percussive effect when doubling the winds. I think the style is also of the period. I appreciate your feedback.

  7. Hey dude, this is really good. The structure, melodies and orchestration are nice and I think the piece is charming.

  8. Exactly! I've already found a couple of trouble spots that I'm going to tweak in the score. Plus, it sounds like my clarinet and horns had the hiccups in some parts... I'll have to re-record those. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the way it sounds. Thanks again for your help, friend!

  9. Much better balance! This might cause you to rethink orchestration since the balance now has changed but it would only cause you to do it in more the samme way as if you had handed the parts to an orchestra.

  10. Glad to see you liked my work, and no problem if you forgot to leave a comment yesterday. My strenth in composition is probably harmony, for some reason it feels really natural to me in comparison with things like modulations and structure. And yes, I'm a pianist, I play that instrument since 2008. (Althouth my Katyusha composition might be way too difficult, I got too excited with that one haha) I also like Feline Night because I did it in a specific mood and I was pretty honest with that music. I always try to express myself, but sometimes I'm not inspired enough.

  11. My apologies for not commenting on these last night as I originally planned... First off, I'm impressed with your grasp of harmonies. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised at both how well-constructed these are and how playable they are. You must be a pianist yourself, or just very good at writing for the instrument. My favorite was Feline Night, though I almost enjoyed the last four just as much. I love how you're using music to experiment and not just to express yourself—or maybe a little of both. Thank you for sharing these, it was a pleasure to listen to them!

  12. I hope you all are doing well this days! Here I share a little scherzo of a little symphony I'm writing to practice. The scherzo is based in some fragmented themes my little sister was tackling on the piano (that is why she is mentioned in the score!) I hpe you enjoy it and as always I'm open for feedback and things to improve. I know that the structure of the scherzo it is not completly correct as in the scherzo part I do not repeat the A section and then the B section. Aswell istead of a trio there is some sort of funeral music (to give some contrast).

  13. If you are in an early stage of your development as an orchestral composer, it is not bad at all. But you should avoid so much repetition of similar chords. At least you can divide basses and other strings into various patterns, even though it can still be the same G major chord. The formal approach is completely adequate though.

  14. I agree with Theodore Servin- the final section is very short and seems like it could be a fully developed section. It's also a bit too well separated for my taste- perhaps a linking theme, a more subtle change in pulse or at least a pedal note between the two sections would make them less disjunct? Your melody writing is very fluent though and as others have said the texture is well handled, well done.

  15. Hi, Today in Catalonia is Sant Jordi’s Day (Saint Jorge) our National Day. In Sant Jordi's day the streets are plenty of shops, where people can buy books and roses. The tradition says partners give a present to each other. Men give a rose to their partners as a present and Women a book. Today is a sad Sant Jordi's Day, no books or roses at all on the Street because of Covid-19. That’s why I wrote this short 3 voice canon today as a symbolic present to my girlfriend, so it’s dedicated to Ninon. I think the character is appropiate to the day. She is a nurse and is going to came back home late from the hospital and I will give it to hear when she is back. I wish you enjoy it as much as I hope she will 😊 It’s just my second canon, so any comments or apprecitations are wellcome. I had no time to put lyrics on it, and I think I'm not good at writing lyrics anyway 😅. If anyone has and idea for a suitable lyrics any suggestions are wellcome as well. Best wishes!
