  1. Wienklassicist 10 - Full Score.pdfWienklassicist 10.mp3 Hi fellow composers! I'm pretty satisfied with this piece all in all, but I need help with the transition to the end where the theme comes in again. I can't find a way to make it feel natural, so I made some rubbish two bars that the violin play solo. also the preceding call and response thingy between violin I and the rest of the strings is something I'm a little unsure of. Any other comments are also interesting. Thanks and have a good day! / Olov

Instead of an opera (or maybe it will be an opera, I don't know yet), I am writing a musical. The main character is a teenage boy who has autism spectrum disorder ("wrong planet syndrome") and has musical savantism. He has always been gifted but never at socializing and making friends. Then he finds out he actually is an alien from another planet, and gets taken to his home world where he finally fits in. He learns there that he was sent to earth to save it from an impending collapse. He has to choose between living comfortably and happily in a place he fits in or saving a world that never loved him back. Antagonist: An increasingly authoritarian leader who is hellbent on dividing the nation and remaining in power. 🤔 This scene is when he's being lifted into the heavens and taken to his true home. Im coming home, I'm coming home, I'm coming home, where I belong I'm coming home, I'm coming home, I'm coming home to where I be- to where I be- to where I belong excuse my sub par singing
  3. Charming little piece overall. I do see what you mean, that solo violin transition is a bit perfunctory though serviceable. I think it could benefit from a bit of contrast from the homophonic texture with a melody and accompaniment which is a pretty much a consistent eight note staccato rhythm throughout the piece. To my ears at least, it begs for a more lyrical contrapunctal section at around measure 20 when the oboe drops out. The oboe solo dropping out for a sizeable chunk of the piece is also a little head-scratching.
