  3. Great use of the phrygian dominant mode to create that deserty feel! I think you did a great job developing your ideas and exploring various different key centers along the way. The orchestration is great as well although I wish you included a score 😕. Those bongos or conga drums or whatever they are sound great in this context also! I found it weird that your phrase lengths are so odd once the music gets started but yet you manage to make it work (love the use of solo horn in this context and for some countermelodies). Later you do let those phrases breathe more it seems. The harp is also a great enhancement to the arabic character of this piece. Great job and thanks for sharing!

  4. @PeterthePapercomPoserWhoa, do you have your version for the tune up anywhere? I would be interested to listen to the tune with tritone substitution, because I could never quite imagine the tune sounding so jazzy. And thanks for giving my arrangements a listen. 🙂

  5. Hello there! I have to say, this is very impressive! Late classical/early romantic is not my type of music, though i am very familar with the works of beethoven, schubert and schumann. From a techniqual perspective your work is great, your harmony and form works very well. I think you are kind of grounded in your harmony, not too much all over the place, but with meaningful and logical transitions. No doubt you master this. Form is very well acording to the style. My favorite movements is the Vivace and andante cantabile, sounds great! 🙂 As for the title i would assume this is programme music, if so, could you tell us a little more about the movements and the ideas? Congratulations on a fanstasic achievement, very suprising that this post has so few comments.

  6. Nice job! I liked all three of them. The third one "Be My Vision" is a melody that I am actually familiar with as it was assigned to harmonize in my jazz harmony class in jr. college! I wasn't even aware that it was an Irish tune! You did a great job with it delaying the resolution to the tonic until the very end. In my version I had to use tritone substitutions and planing for the requirements of the assignment so it came out a bit different! LoL Thanks for sharing!

  7. Double fugue in gminor scored for 2x oboe, 2x bassoon in g minor. I think i will rearrange the fugue for two pianos... Written in the mid baroque style, so dont exptect those bach episodes 😉 Please telle me what you think. SimenN

  8. Concerto Grosso in g major: Concerto grosso in g major written in the early italian school after Corelli for two solo violins, solo cello, strings and basso continuo. Written to my son Jonas. Key signature i used for this piece is G major (Everything rustic, idyllic and lyrical, every calm and satisfied passion, every tender gratitude for true friendship and faithful love,--in a word every gentle and peaceful emotion of the heart is correctly expressed by this key.) I. Grave - allegro. II. Adagio III. Vivace IV. Largo V. Presto Please tell me what you think. SimenN
