I 2nd @Brinsonian - it sounds very nice and pleasing to the ear. Although I can understand why you put the "kind of" in the title of this piece because it's not really a concerto as you probably well know. Concerto's are meant to feature the instrument of choice and allow the soloist to dazzle the listener with pyrotechnical displays of virtuosity. This piece is more challenging for the piano than for the bassoon! Also your approach to writing this piece sounds very cinematic rather than like a concert work which I would be weary to fall into the pattern of writing. I don't know if you've ever heard any of John Williams concertos (I think the one I listened to was a concerto for Tuba?) - they don't sound like concert music and imo aren't really comparable to any of the historical greats' concertos. They still sound like film-music which just goes to show that old habits die hard - once a film composer, always a film composer, as they say! (Actually - I think only I say that LoL). Still a very enjoyable piece!
