  2. Hi all. Here's a piece I started writing at the end of last year. Like my other piece, "The Deep Ocean", I've used a combination of orchestral and electronic instruments. This time I used a wider range of synth textures, including Dream Pad, Free Lead, and Blade Sweeper. The piece has an ABA structure, with a Baroque style bridge back to the recapitulation of the A theme. I'm interested to know whether the Baroque section sounds similar to other pieces from that era? Far as I know it's original, and it came to me as a natural development of my B theme. There's always a niggling doubt though, that I might've accidentally reproduced something I've heard many years ago! I'd like to think the piece flows naturally; but perhaps the recapitulation sounds a bit contrived, like it's been bolted onto the end?

  3. Very nice. Your title is well chosen in that the impression I received was of daybreak. Some very lovely harmonies - in the absence of a score I can't point out any of the many that, well, bluntly, were clever but let the piece flow...suspensions, long appoggiaturas, chromatic weaving of the melody line. I thought the rapid flurries in the opening were about right the length they are. They made their point and probably what made me at once think of daybreak. Shame it's so short.

  5. yeah idk I didnt want it to become too static. I figured they had their place now its time for the main event, but maybe I could have kept them. transitions, whether tripping on psychedelics or writing a song, are very scary. I'll take just fine as a W because that was the scariest moment writing this song. Will probably amend it with more lush orchestration to make clear the harmonies at play.

  6. Enjoyed it indeed, but I think those rapid arpeggios could remain for a longer time (even to 1:10). I like it a lot anyway, the transition from peak to calm around 1:10 is just fine plus the end is very satisfying. Kind regards!
