  1. This is an Action Suite I composed, it uses mostly brass with heavy string sections.

  2. Thanks a lot. The forums looks like a very friendly communauty. I'm totally agree with you. I was in too much of a rush to finish and was missing new idea to do it. It's a Consolation, the Major part (bright and hopeful) should be longer. I've just forgot to hide it. It's for an accelerando on Musescore export to MIDI. Thanks a lot for your encouragement.

  3. I had a few melodies and motifs already in my head before playing, but the majority of the piece, all the accompaniment and combining these ideas with those invented on the fly was improvised. I'd love to hear from you again! Yes, they are mine. They just don't have titles because I do poorly with that. Of course, all the tracks are distinct. Thanks for the broad feedback!

  4. Hi and welcome to the forums! Let's get into this video. First of all, what do you mean by semi-improvised? Is there a draft score that you could share? It sounds nice, not really like a fantasy (to me, of course) but more like some epic intro/medley of a medieval series or film. The 123-123-12 rhythm seems to be one of the main features of this idea, as well as the right-hand octaves boosting the melody and the limited harmony (which is not necessarily bad at all. It all depends on what you want I suppose). I believe that this is a good start to produce something quite cool, but not the finished product (and that would make sense since you said it's a semi-improvisation, right?), right now it feels to me like a bunch of more or less decent (some of them quite cool like 1:26 to 1:38 approx) ideas that lack a defined structure (which again may be what you want) and that in sum give me a feeling of listening to something a bit generic. You seem to take some more risks with the rhythm (and perhaps with harmony a little but not really sure) around 4:30 and towards the end. Those risks perhaps could have been taken before and thus added some more variety to the piece. Still, parts like the one I mentioned (1:26-1:38) do this job more or less good. I still have to check your next "iterations"... Just to clarify, lol, they are created by you, right? This is likely a dumb question but those titles suggest me something AI-related. Kind regards, Daniel–Ømicrón.

  5. This is the sixth movement of "The Firm" Dark Orchestral Suite that puts in music original pictures and troubling stories. Enjoy the evilness of Gerald Rivian in his quest to replace politicians by the latest AI robots Cheers, https://soundcloud.com/user-461764443/the-new-chief-technology-officer

  6. Well thanks man ^^, but I haven't published it here nor in free-scores. Actually I don't tend to publish my pieces instantly for some reason and before this year I didn't publish them at all save counted exceptions. But again, thank you for the interest! Didn't know that software but it definitely produces good audio outputs! I also tried reaper and some others, but I guess I cannot abandon musescore, heh. Kind regards!

  7. Haven't listened to your 3rd piano sonata; but I'll be sure to check it out! The longest piece I've written is my 10-minute "Peripheral Moods" in five movements. All my compositions so far have been created with Music Studio for iPad. It's not a full featured DAW; but I think it's the best one for tablet. I also have Reaper on my laptop; but haven't used it much, as I find the iPad's touch-screen very useful for composition work.

  8. Hey- Listened to the first movement. I enjoyed the craftsmanship. I got the feel that this would be the product if Grieg and Haydn group-thought a string quartet. Haydn's thematic handling and Grieg's harmonic language. A bit of the aimlessness in parts, but I won't belabor it. In your own comments you mention this--and it's a first effort in a MURDEROUS genre. Very well done. Congrats and Kuddos for your persistence, which is key.

  9. I just composed this piece this morning, it is completely set in D Major. I was going for something slow with a settling feel, It goes for just around 3 minutes and contains mostly strings as the instrumentation including string sections and ensembles. I did also decide to add a harpsicord and some pizzicato strings in the lower range section of the composition. It starts and finishes similarly with the same chord progression been used in D Major however at the end it's just melody/phrasing changes. My 7th String Concerto is very short, however I think it's just right only after spending several hours at the computer with my plug in keyboard next to me I decided to finish it off short. It uses the relative minor in some sections a B minor and also takes advantage of 2, 5, 1 progressions in D major however without the 7ths.

  10. I listened to all of your recent improvisations and I like them very much. One thing I have often noticed is that improvisations quite often have a certain melancholy feeling to them, one that hints or explicitly points to love and/or love interests. Of course there is nothing wrong with that but sometimes I would like to hear one more in line with, say, "Zippity Do Dah Zippty Ay"(sp) or Billy Ray Cyrus or the latest Taylor Swift release. Are you up to it or do i have to take care of it? 🙂

  11. To all YCers who may read this...sorry for this part but I am working on my "Taylor Swift Project", AKA, "The Billy Ray Cyrus Project" again. I have used this line in 12 posts, mostly on FB and I needed a 13th. Did you catch the sly reference about Swift? Like, "Oh god another one? Seriously?" I'm not a big fan of arpeggiated lovely-ness either. Billy Ray's OK.
