  1. This is a piece for wind quintet that I've been at for the past few months. I really wanted to take a deep dive into quartal harmony, and it's been fun figuring out how to use this style for my own compositions. I'd love any kind of feedback, and hopefully you enjoy!

  2. Did you wash your hands with Dawn before making this? Its mfin clean! the rhythmic interplay, the structural integrity and continuity, superb. I love the harmony as well. Very zoned out listening to this, almost like a trance.

  3. That's so funny and playful! Your music depicts the story in front of my eyes! It gives me the impression of Disney's music!! The orchestral sound is great, and the chord change fascinating. That cello playing high register is creative, since that unnatural sound shows how much work the tortoise has done to claim the win! But I agree with @chopin that cello is featured so little in the music. It's like the writer forgot to narrate what's happening on the tortoise since the tortoise seemed disappeared through the hare's eyes. The oboe having surprise and claiming defeat is hilarious too! The ending is really abrupt😅 .Seems like the mother reading the storybook quickly close it and wipe it out. What a nice piece you have composed!

  5. Hello again, Thanks a lot for your kind response! Spelling is certainly an interesting issue. There are often situations where I find it difficult to make the right choice. Also when I look at some work of great composers (like for example some works of Schuman), I cannot always understand the reason for some of his spellings. Therefore it is so nice when people provide me with alternative opinions and explanations. I can see that your two suggestions for MS 179 are certainly possible and legible. (I would probably prefer the first one). Also, I agree that the flats in MS 180 should be bracketed, but maybe it becomes a bit messy (at least for sight reading), and this would be another reason to go for flats in MS 179. Altogether, I am very grateful for your engagement! Thanks a lot!! (In the meantime, I wrote the second movement of the sonata. I will post it as well and I would be curious to find out what you think of it.) Best regards

  6. This is EPIC. We need to get you into the habit of producing scores though 😛 This sounds like a waltz to me but correct me if I am wrong. Regarding your instrument usage. I was hoping the cello would get a bit more play time, after all, its the tortoise & the hare. I know the tortoise gets left behind, but he doesn't get abandoned or forgotten. After he, he does win, right? Great theme, usage of instruments, usage of dynamics (especially your crescendo towards the end when the tortoise came back and was victorious). *Pro tip regarding your audio: You need a cadence! Never cut off the end of your audio that abruptly.
