  2. I wanted to share this very simple thing I wrote thinking about things from the past and etc.... The basis was: a very singable melody, and a fixed progression: I - IV - (ii - V)/iv - iv - (ii - V)/ii - ii - (ii - V)/V - Vsus - V - I For oboe (English horn) + electric piano (mark). The one in the picture is one of my deceased dogs.... He was very big and precious, protector of babies, children, puppies and cats. But he did everything in a big way.

  3. Very enjoyable listen! Structurally and harmonically, it's magnificent, and the motifs were memorable and well developed. The main problem I have is with the engraving, but of course that for the longest time was not the composer's job so it's not a big deal, but just to give a summary: the tempo markings are a little small. There is some overlapping text. Page numbers should be continuous from the first to the last movement, since if it were to be published the whole piece would be in one book. And in my opinion, the 64th notes in movement 3 would work better as acciaccatura, both for the sake of a cleaner score and easier reading, but I can see why one might not want to make this change. Great music regardless.

  4. Hey @olivercomposer, Again you use the hexatonic E minor/C minor contrast at the beginning. I agree with Luis on the ongoing intensity and huge volume of the track, but I think this is the cinematic/movie trailer style typical in your orchestral music. 2:13 there's mixing of octatonic scales with the heavy percussion underneath, which again reminds me film trailer. The familiar brassy ending heightens the tension as usual. I don't look into the video except the subscribe button causes me a giggle haha! Thx for sharing! Henry

  6. Hey Luis @Luis Hernández, The music is simple, touching and slightly melancholic, and I enjoy this. I think English horn will be better at capturing the low register like the low B of the oboe. Thx for sharing! Henry

  7. I thought it was called "Doc's theme", but apparently it's the love theme between Doc and Clara.

  8. This piece, at times, sounds very tonal. It is not that tonality has disappeared in contemporary music, but in my opinion there is a tendency to write tonally, which shows that there is no mastery of contemporary languages, which are not easy at all. Contemporary systems are, precisely, organized systems. It is not enough to write freely, but one has to frame oneself in a language. The double notes to fifths on the cello I think are not a good thing. On the one hand, they should not be easy, on the other hand, it is in a very low register, although tolerable if they are fifths.
