  1. I've just realized that I never shared this symphony here. This is an old piece (originally written around 2008) that I revised and ran through NotePerformer more recently (last year). Probably the earliest symphony I wrote that I wouldn't be horribly embarrassed to show to anyone (only a little bit embarrassed, perhaps). Anyway, even if perhaps it isn't my finest work, I'd still be quite interested to read people's feedback on this piece. The intention with it was to write something in the style of J.C. Bach or early Mozart, though I'm not sure to what degree I succeeded with that.

  2. I've never worked on a piece of music for as long as i've worked on this. I hope it shows, and I appreciate any and all feedback. The score in the video is still unedited, so apologies for any difficulty reading. https://youtu.be/e0yjHNenglU

  3. LoL! Actually I am not that familiar with Chinese instruments even as a Chinese. I remembered I learned to play Erhu (a bow string instrument with two strings) and I literally played like sxxt. 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 https://www.wikihow.com/Play-the-Guzheng-(Chinese-Zither)#:~:text=In guzheng music (Jian Pu,on top of the music. I have just seen from this website that actually the ^4 and ^7 notes are possible, even though the strings are tuned with different keys and in a pentatonic setting. Henry

  5. jesus christ YOU JUST NEEDED DECENT SOUNDS ALL YOUR WORK SOUNDS AMAZING now that I can hear it!!! I would have used that minor 4 to go back to the 1 but you did something that opened my ears a bit. This uses so much amazing theory (I assume, lol). It reminds me of Gershwin but like a bit stoned and more contemplative

  6. Quick question for those familiar with Chinese instruments (i.e. Henry!) Am I right in thinking my Guzheng part is unplayable here? I gather they're normally tuned in a major pentatonic scale; whereas my piece is in A minor. I'm guessing the glissandi are definitely unplayable; but what about the rest of the part? If it's just the glissandi, I could maybe add another instrument to play those. Perhaps a harp; or something Chinese?
