  1. Not having been able to finish this fugue by the 28th of July (the 273rd anniversary of J. S. Bach's passing), I decided upon its completion to dedicate it not just to the immortal spirit and insurmountable heritage of Master Bach (whose musical signature has been included throughout this fugue), but also to my dear father Ángel on occasion of his 60th birthday. Enjoy! YouTube video link:
  2. I like it! I see what you mean that the left hand is somewhat repetitive but I actually don't think that's too much of an issue for a short piece which seems ideal for a beginner-intermediate level pianist.
  3. I love it! Its always a pleasure to hear a new mazurka, and this one is very beautiful and idiomatic. I’m sure it would sound even better with rubato, which might smooth over Measure 15, the only part that sounded slightly unusual to me. I personally didn’t think the accompaniment was too repetitive, but I do wish it was a bit longer. Perhaps you could extend the themes a bit and repeat them, or add something like a scherzando section. That could also allow you to use a different left hand pattern if you like. Nevertheless it’s still a very good mazurka, and I hope you continue writing more of them in the future.
  4. Very good job! It feels right for a prelude
  5. I actually liked this piece a lot. I love the emotion in the A section, and how it was expressed through the harmonies and melody. I was somewhat confused about the choices for enharmonics, and the lack of a change of key signature at the end to go back to A-flat minor, but thats really doesn't bother me. There are some adjustments I would make in the B section, but really only minor details. Very nice!
  6. I like bass walking very much. The passage to the soprano part later was also nice.
  7. It sounds very nice, but I would just make it longer
  8. Yes, that's indeed a very chopin-like composition. And thanks for the references, I start playing it before reading at the text and thought immediately in E-flat Chopin's Nocturne... I find Chopin's harmony quite complex, so congratulations, your really got the style.
  9. Man...if you don't expand this piece!!!!!!
  10. Back to another listening. What I like of this piece is that it goes out of the comfort zone of piano waltz.... The broken chords, the thickened chords,..., oh man, that makes it interesting. Sticking to the waltz pattern everyone-of-us-can-write would have been boring. If you want to expand it or not, it's another question. To do it would, almost as a need, to look for a different piano background, because being original the one you have, overusing it would make it ordinary.
  11. Some piano chord sound too heavy to me, giving the piano some melodic part would make the piece more interesting as mention by tortualex. But the piece sound really nice overall. Please do post here if it got extended.
  12. I wish this piece were longer! It deserves an expanded treatment. I'd totally play this myself if it were more substantial.
  13. Some parts don't feel like a waltz but that makes it insteresting to the ear, I think you can expand it like you said, also some melody interchanges would be good, the "bass" in the violin and the melody in the piano to make it interesting for the pianist, also some contrapunct would make it even better,so the piano would not be only an acompaniment. Sorry for my bad english I hope my comment it's understandable
