  1. Thank you so much, Gwen! I'm glad you enjoyed the listen. And with the feedback I've received I am planning to revisit. BBCSO Discover is free! And the Intimate Strings and the Epic Choirs are cheaper offerings from Spitfire Audio. I'd highly recommend them if you haven't looked into their stuff! Again, thank you so much for the feedback. I greatly appreciate it!

  2. énouement- "The bittersweetness of having arrived here in the future, finally learning the answers to how things turned out but being unable to tell your past self." Please let me know how this turned out! My goal is to eventually have a composition for each of the "obscure sorrows."

  3. Hello @Loctobers! This definitely has a bittersweet flavor to it but with a certain edge or mathematical precision. I say that because this music reminds me of the score to "A Beautiful Mind". The vigorous ostinati are probably partly to blame for that. Although they do not continue throughout the whole piece letting the ear have some respite. It is still quite minimalist in its approach however. I like how you extend the musical ideas in the piece through augmentation towards the end. There's a sudden sense of peaceful resolution - like things are exactly the way they're meant to be. I love the thickly voiced strings fade-out at the very end. I think the piece portrays exactly what you meant to so congrats! Thanks for sharing.

  4. To me it sounds like modern baroque (neo-baroque?) because the conduction of voices is not as expected and also certain intervals that are supposed to be dissonant, etc... But as it sounds good, I like it.

  5. This composition has some lovely harmonies and textures ... - you have the flutes playing in the same range as the clarinets ... better up an octave (or thirds etc.)- the clarinet may dominate the sound in that register. The orchestration is sparse- yet creates a mood - is this what you desire? I yearned for a bit more coverage in the tapestry. For me there is yet more potential to be found in your piece. Mark

  6. Hi @Hcab5861! I think this is a great example of a good mash-up! It's so short - I wish it were longer or for example just a single member of many variations on "Old MacDonald ..." There's so many themes that people haven't written variations on before that are like fruit for the taking! Many composers have done the Paganini variations - for me that's like a piece of fruit that's already over-ripe or gone sour LoL. But I haven't heard a composer take a theme like "Old MacDonald ..." and write a fully fledged set of variations on it which would be really cool if done well! Thanks for sharing.
