  1. So a bit of shameless self-promotion I guess, but my first ever album of orchestral music in a more classic-hollywood style, aimed at the adventure movie genre for TV and Film licensing is out now. I'm fairly amped about it. You can listen to it on all major music platforms: https://amadeamusicproductions.fanlink.tv/lost-worlds but at the time of writing, Spotify has it attributed to another guy with the same name, as I've not been on Spotify before now. I'm sure that will be rectified shortly. Anyway here are a few tracks from it on YouTube. Skim through it if you like and I'd appreciate to know which ones you like the most.

  2. Use Music Jotter to compose a short fugue! This video will give you a rough idea on what elements make up a fugue. I also attached my staccato fugue that I composed with Music Jotter. You can download the midi file, and load it into Music Jotter. Feel free to play around with it. You can Self Grant Access to the software. Criteria Since I will record all the pieces with Organ or Piano and audition your works on YouTube, keep it one instrument. Also, because Music Jotter is still in development, keep the piece short (at most, one minute). Use Chrome or Firefox as well. Safari has been lightly tested. No more than 5 tracks, but you may use fewer tracks and multiple voices. I've composed works with up to 1000 notes and it runs OK. Don't compose too many notes without making sure your piece has been saved. You can download your midi file as often as you wish. You can follow the rules of the fugue loosely. But be sure you compose with at least 2 voices (either within a track, or by using multiple tracks). But you can compose up to 4 or 5 voices if you wish! I will record your piece, and rank them...this is a challenge! I will try to get a judge to help me rank these. To join, I encourage you to be a supporter, see below. If you want to join my Fugue Challenge, you can help support my organization of this event + development of this software by becoming a supporter. We already have 26 supporters, why not join us? I am offering 2 tiers: $3 / month (basic support, and eligible to join our challenges) $5 / month (a voice in development of Music Jotter + eligible to join our challenges) Join here If there is enough interest, I will release a short video on exactly what elements to use in Music Jotter to compose the fugue. *Update: Short video, lol.

  3. Hi @Alex Weidmann! I've never used Logic but I know @Left Unexplained has. I have some sneaky tricks I use in Musescore 4 to let me get the most out of my dynamics. For piano music, if I want to better balance part of my piano score I use velocity values to bring out the melody. For example I offset the melody from the rest of the notes by say about 20 - 40 velocity values. In the past this has actually only worked on MS Basic Soundfonts and I have thus far not been able to make these minute changes in dynamics to specific parts of a piano score with the Musesounds - although they've since updated the software so it might be worth it to check if that ability has been added. Sometimes I've also found that accent marks help bring definition to a melodic line or figuration by placing the accents on notes that fall on a strong beat. This usually works with Musesounds and with any instrument, not just piano. I think I know what you mean. If I want a single note diminuendo to say, pp, without a jarring dynamic artefact at the end when the instrument doing the diminuendo starts playing again at a higher dynamic following that diminuendo, you have to leave a short rest between notes to allow the diminuendo to come to its target dynamic and also another short time interval of silence to bring the dynamic back up to the new higher dynamic before the new note starts playing. I hope that makes sense. As long as the sudden dynamic change from pp to the higher new dynamic happens during a silence you should be fine. I know MuseHub has a compressor you can download and apply to the master track in the mixer in Musescore 4 Studio. I hope some of that helps! Thanks for your post.
