  1. Oh dear. Very fun stuff, my friend.
  2. My friend is really into space and the great beyond so I took time to write something dedicated to him. It is as the title says: A Journey to the Sun. It starts slow and deliberate as the astronauts are making their way to the space craft. Almost immediately after takeoff, something goes wrong and sirens go off. It is soon found to be minor and they successfully break the atmosphere. Floating through space, they relax for a time. Then they hit light speed and the music quickens accordingly. Another little soft, relaxation period followed by a triumphant ending to sound the journey's end. This is an older composition of mine and thus has some relatively simple ideas. Journey to the Sun
  3. I seem to have the "unfinished" feel to a lot of my compositions. I run out of inspiration and just try to tie up loose ends and move on. Thanks for the review.
  4. A cello solo I was inspired to write after attending my school concert and watching a cellist play. Ever since then, I have found the cello to be a beautiful instrument. I'd really like to learn it. Cello Solo
  5. Thank you both for reviewing!
  6. This was inspired by another piece of a similar idea that I found on YouTube which has been unfortunately taken down by the user. Harmonically Unsound
  7. This is a piece I originally wrote for fun but have had the honor of having it played by my school's strings orchestra. Sinfonietta
  8. Thank you SYS for your feedback! Yeah, I know they're too loud. I tried it with Garritan but that makes everything too quiet. I think doubling is a good idea but I always think to myself that it isn't. I'm glad someone is contradicting me. If it were to be played live, though, I think I could get the players to be quieter to allow the soloist to be heard. Thanks.
  9. This is a flute solo inspired by Bach's Mass in B Minor. Theme and Variations
  10. I quite enjoyed that! I really liked the use of a harp as a solo instrument throughout; I've never heard a piece like that. The only nitpick I have is that it seems the chord changes every bar. Not only that but it just feels synthetic to me. It's probably just me, I've done the same thing and I try to catch myself. It's not a feel I like but I can see the appeal. Great piece! I'd like to see a score. Thanks for sharing!

    Adagio

This piece was inspired by simplicity. Adagio
  12. This is supposed to sound very cliche. Andante
  13. I'm not adept at theory and haven't taken any classes but I can say from a purely audible standpoint, it was good. I really liked it.
  14. Thanks baarrtek for the criticism! Looking at what you said gave me a fresh pair of ears and I definitely see what you're saying all too well.
  15. There are three short movements in this six minute suite. The first movement is a combination of fast and slow sections. The second movement is a fast, almost dance-like theme. The third movement is slower, yet again. Short Suite
