  1. ooks ok, but I might have a question about the cellos. Are they two divisi, each playing a fourth? Might be clearer in the violas. But maybe not a problem.ask a cellist
  2. Just make it very clear in both parts and score. Large letters and in a circle or bracket.
  3. The only way to really know is to show it to a player.
  4. Because the 2nd inversion is so unstable, it should be used sparingly. Speaking of traditional harmony of course.
  5. Seems like more of a harmony question. If you have a strong bass line and good independent voice leading, what the instruments play will naturally follow.
  6. As a college teacher I would recommend that you submit music that really shows your individual voice. Length is not important. Make sure that your scores look good and are in professional notation, such as finale. Teachers are looking for imagination and talent. Good luck! And don't give up! Ghmus7@hotmail.com
  7. Not to be discouraging, but it is a very difficult field to break into. A good goal to succeed in music is to learn a good variety of music skills, performance on an instrument or voice, composing skills, teaching and conducting. Training in a wide variety of skills will make it more possible to apply for opportunities that arise. Just my opinion. Btw pretty much all film composers live in la near the film industry.
