  1. I can just say what I know An Eletric guitar is usually what rockers and other e-guitar players call "clean". There's no modification to the sound, it's the exact sound produced by the strings that come through the speakers. The song brave new world by Iron Maiden uses clean guitar in the intro, later they put a little distortion on it. A distorted guitar have a modified sound (the one used in almost evry rock song there is) the tone is distorted and not "clean" as an acoustic guitar. Usually, if you play rock, the "darker" or "harder" the song is, the more distortion is used. The song "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" by Bruce Dickinson uses dist guitar (a medium distortion, the most common in the rock I listen too anyway)
  2. bohem, and sorry for the late answer, I've been inactive in here for some time :glare:
  3. I*ve been playing in orchestras of diffrent difficulti here in Partille-Sweden (33 000 inhabitatnts) for years now, ONCE I've had obeoists playing, once in 5½ years. We have bassons though, in almost evry orchestra (only one in the symhphony orchestra though :glare: )
  4. Oh, this is intresting. I've got an etude that's HARD, but it's far from impossibly hard. Hm.... no idea :) I'll come up with something once I find anything
  5. Ever heard of taking things easy?
  6. 18. May it be (with Enya) 3:31 This track is just, beutiful. Enyas singing makes it even better. The text is partly in elfish, but that doesn't matter really, it fits so good with the comp. A soft ending to the soundtrack, and a perfect ending. The soft voice, the strings and the harp makes it just perfect. This is why you keep listening to the end (10+/10) and I'll copy in the text here too. Verse1 May it be an eve-ning star shines down up - - on ----- you. May it be when dark- ness falls. Your hearth_____ will be true- You___walk a lone-ly road. Oh! How far you_ are from home. Chorus: Mor-ni e u tû - li - è______ Believe and you____ will find____ your way. M - or - ni - è a-lan - it- e.______ A prom - ise lives____ with - in you now._______ Verse2 May it be the shad-ow's call will fly a - way. May it be you jour - ney on to___ light______ the day. When the night is o-ver - come. you may rise to__ find the sun. Chorus: Mor-ni e u tû - li - è______ Believe and you____ will find____ your way. M - or - ni - è a-lan - it- e.______ A prom - ise lives____ with - in you now._______ A prom - ise lives with - in you now. I've got the translation to the elfish to. Morni e u tûlié means Darkness has come Morni è alanite means Darkness has come
  7. heh, I love the LOTR soundtrack :P so I enjoy taking time to this, and why's mine 1 sec shorter then yours   Track 4. the treason of isengaard 4:00 The start of this iece is very intresting, I noticed first today that you need a good bass to hear the low low precrussion in the background. The piece as full is though, not as good. The first part is good, but then it turns into a choir/precrussion/brass work. And it turns definelty movie like, with the pictures, sure it's probably good. But wihout, nope. I'm not rating this high, and it has no way of standing up towards the perfection we had in the begining (the prophecy and concerning the hobbits). (3.5/10)
  8. gah, now I feel bad  hwo long have you played? used tounge on evry note? (offcourse you did)
  9. I know, flight of the bumblebee, on clarinet, it's so hard and so cool to listen too, how somebody can work their toung and fingers so fast, jsut awesome! I'd love to play it
  10. 2. Concerning the hobbits (2:55) this is a soft track, pizz strings and bright solos. I'd put this track in to the category "beutiful for a sunny day and a walk". The orchestration as I can hear it is quite thin, but shores composition ios brilliant. Using a lot of strings and wind in the background he has created a piece that is lovley to listen to, and the solos in combination with the pizz strings is wonderful, a real masterpiece. Listening to this is a real joy, a good continuation to the prophecy. (10/10)
  11. Oboe solos, I dunno why, but I love oboe solos :) for beutiful solos at least, soft calm solos are for oboe, big proud mega solos are for trumpet, to bad our trumpets aint that good :(
  12. RC, a mate of mine has that one (got it old though) I've got a Buffet E13, works excelent, and it's good for a 14 year old:P
  13. erhm, I have no idea what system it is, I know vaugle that there might be another system then the one I played on, I think it's the german I use though :P it's the standard in sweden and all countries I know. And yeah I'm working on speed, the notevalues in the score really aint that importent, how ever, I'm working a lot on staccato cause I'm louzy at that  and my height play needs improvment too, but there's always something to work with ;) and chords might come, we'll see, in the future I might add that on, and minors, I'm gonna end up with 1 hour warm up with scales and chords :P
  14. I'm not certain were to put this really, andybody got some recomendations practising scales for clarinet? I've been learning all major scales, I've made a sheet that shows how I practise. Could anybody help me make a similar one for the minor scales? I practise scales Starting on E (wich is the lowest tone on the Clarinet) then I play in tvo octaves and up to the third tone (in the E scale G#) then down again, changing to F major and so on up til the next E. I'm adding a midi and a sibelius file showing this. Dur_skalor.sib Dur_skalor.mid
  15. on the clarinet, I'd say you can try Per grynt, Anitras Dance, I love those trills. And it's not hard either. Or if you want for an orchestra, try the hall of the mountain king, also good. Or you can play schuberts 3rd symphony first part (Allegro con brio I think), I played that at orchestra camp, really fun, for clarinets anyway :)
