  1. Very nice work! Seems to be inspired by the Habanera from Bizets "Carmen" and is also reminiscent of Massenets concert music. And the instrumentation fits very good. IMP can indeed be proud of that composer... :)
  2. What do you think of these sketches of Stravinsky's? I find them quite interesting:
  3. Thanks for your appreciation of my music. What I can tell you about myself is: I have been composing now for about 14 years, and most of my knowledge is self-taught - i.e. everything except for the things you can learn in musicology courses... My favourite composers and greatest influences are Haydn, Mahler, Ives, Stravinsky, Shostakovich and Antheil. As the typical jack of all parades, I compose almost everything you can imagine: "serious" music as well as musical comedies and pop songs. And I also do orchestrations; my last great work in that direction were the ones for "Paradiso" by Tangerine Dream - working with them was a very interesting experience. Well, if you want to know more, just ask me or have a look at my web site: Lars J. Lange (unfortunately, it's all in German...)
  4. Hello folks! Last Wednesday, this sonata saw its world premiere in Brandenburg/Havel. Unfortunately, I do not yet have a real recording, so I just have to offer you the version "played" by Finale 2006 with Finale GPO samples: I. Allegro http://www.impressive-music-production.de/musik/larssonate1allegro.mp3 II. Andante sostenuto http://www.impressive-music-production.de/musik/larssonate2andantesostenuto.mp3 III. Scherzo: Presto http://www.impressive-music-production.de/musik/larssonate3scherzo.mp3 IV. Andante sostenuto http://www.impressive-music-production.de/musik/larssonate4andantesostenuto.mp3 V. Vivace http://www.impressive-music-production.de/musik/larssonate5vivace.mp3 (N.B.: The harpsichord here is not really a harpsichord - the player has to lay sheets of paper onto the piano strings during the flute solo, so the piano sounds remotely like a harpsichord...) I really appreciate your opinions on this piece of music.
