  1. I have to admit there isn't really much of a melody at the beggining, I was trying to set a mood more or less the melody comes in about half way through. Did you listen to the whole thing?
  2. This is a piece I wrote on Easter Sunday, it took me about three hours. It an underlying motive which is in the harp most of the way. It consists of a broken chord in the upper part and syncopated octaves in the the bass. This as I said is the underlying rhythm, It is also transfered to other instruments toward the end. The key is A major, and there isn't really any minor section just a few minor spots. No key changes just alot of stuff in A major. Please listen and tell me what you think. Audio Xanga Beethovensheir
  3. Ok here's the updated version, I tried to make the cello part a bit harder. please tell me if you think it's better. Beethovensheir Cello concerto in Bb major 3rd movement2.MUS
  4. Here is the final movement of my Cello concerto. I actually finished it about a week ago but haven't had much computer time. The mp3 file and the finale file aren't exactly the same, The opening in the finale file has wood winds, Please tell me which you prefer. I am also wondering if the woodwind parts in general are to spars. and something about the length, I'm witting this concerto for a competition and the entire work had to be under ten minutes. well take a listen or look and comment please. Beethovensheir Heres the mp3 link Audio Xanga Cello concerto in Bb major 3rd movement.MUS
  5. Thanks for the thoughts. I will definitely take them into consideration. And also thanks for posting the midi file. I just created an mp3 of it thought, the quality's a bit better. Heres the link Audio Xanga

  10. Just listen to my cello concerto tell me what you think, I spent some more time on that, I am quite happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for making people achieve a high standard. Beethovensheir beethovensheir's Xanga Site
  11. Ok people I'm sorry. I joined this forum and though I should post a piece, I sort of just grabbed on from my collection to give people an idea of the sort of music I write, I realize that it wasn't perfect. I apologize. I shouldn't have done it in such hast.
  12. It's a problem of mine I do thing's to hastily, I'm working on it. What else can I say. Sorry if it bothers you. No hard feelings by the way, I appreciate you stating your honest opinion. Beethovensheir
  13. Can the work have been performed already? if so count me in.
  14. Thanks for taking the time to comment. As I said this piece was written in about three hours and I haven't had time to go over the parts carefully. I think I did do some things to hastily, which is a problem of mine. I am actually planning on getting a book on orchestration soon. Thanks again If you want to watch a piece I had recently performed go to YouTube - Young Composers Part 1
  15. Sorry my apologies. I was just trying to get across a point that music is for the listener, as A listener it wasn't enjoyable, I'm not saying you can't compose, that's not my place and I haven't heard anything else you have written so I can't judge that. what would I have done? well I usually start with a chord structure that makes sense and a nice melody. You can listen to my stuff. beethovensheir's Xanga Site
