  1. You just gotta feel it man.

  3. I would agree, the only time I've seen that style is with large clusters that simply won't fit all together. If all you are doing is an augmented unison, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the more traditional style.
  4. It is possible, however it is not practical at all. Most likely you would have to do a lot of manual editing and line everything up yourself.
  5. More basically, the first mistake you make is trying to do something different. Don't worry, it's a classic rookie mistake.
  6. Perhaps if you understood the theory better you would be able to infer musical purpose from it. Being familiar enough with pitch sets I can tell you that a set of information similar to the example you so effortlessly write off provides me with a wealth of knowledge concerning the musical purpose of said pitch sets, especially given a context in which to view it. Of course you're going to somehow say I'm wrong, I didn't listen to what you had to say, or some nonsense and then continue to spout more nonsense. So go ahead.
  7. You're wasting your time on him, Ralph.
  8. You might be wrong about that as well.
  9. No, I'm pretty sure you got everything wrong.
  10. Function is not tied to the scale degrees, function is determined through the manner in which the chord interacts with the chords around it. The three main functions are tonic, subdominant, and dominant. The mediant can function as a tonic because you can see it as a 7 chord with an omitted root. Or, you can see the mediant as a subdominant 6 chord. How you will analyze the chord will depend on the larger progression.
