About Koalable

Profile Information

  • Biography
I started out as a self taught musician playing only the piano, then I branched out into violin and guitar and discovered Hans Zimmer. Ever since then, I've fallen in love with the prospect of becoming a Film Composer. And here I am. I know I don't have a snowball's chance in hell at getting into a conservatory, but I would love to at least hone my skills here.

  1. As a Soldier, I was laughed at and completely ridiculed for listening to anything other than rock, rap, r&b, or pop. My love of the classics and composing is like having my men look at me like I'm intentionally hating on them. It's not even thought of as a manly thing to do or to pass the time. It's pitied and hated.
  2. Lots of listening to Music Scores and Classical Stuff. Then following the actual scores while they are being performed on stage (video recording). Really crazy. Then I started looking into great performers and realized I could do this. Self taught everything. Never took a piano lesson, never took a violin lesson. Figured out how to sight read and write on demand. I really need to get on all of that though. My clock is ticking. Addendum: I never knew hard until I discovered the Goldberg Variations.
  3. Good God, I'm screwed then if I was ever employed for these things.
  4. I want be one of the greats of Hollywood, like Hans Zimmer, Gregson-Williams, Jablonsky, McCreary, etc. And to be credited with work for great blockbuster movies. I would also like to at least write one ballet and one musical before I finish off my career when I'm 90.
