My dream is to compose/produce music in a way that I can appeal to the mainstream yet have enough classical influence in it that it can still be in the classical genre, ultimately bridging the gap between classical music and other popular genres (e.g. the classical genre plus rap, dubstep, or heavy metal, etc. [not arrangements either!]).

  1. Oh yeah I see it now! I have a i | v | VI 7 | III-V | progression going on throughout the whole thing pretty much... I'm definitely gonna spice it up with some better chords! I'll see what I come up with in terms of the soprano voice. I always thought that was a weak line I had written, so I'll be sure to change it. Thank you so much!
  2. So I wrote this piece a while back but I can't exactly put my finger on what it's missing. When I listen to it, it just sounds "meh." I had originally wanted to make a modern pop-sounding song that featured a solo cellist and a string orchestra to dedicate it to one of my friends, but since I'm not a songwriter I couldn't think of the right words to set to this. I was thinking of increasing the tempo to make it less boring and getting rid of the song form to make it an instrumental piece, but I still think I need a better melodic line for the chorus and more interesting pizzicato part. Any suggestions?
