  1. I like how it goes from "bright" to melancholy in a smooth transition - while maintaining a consistent tempo. My only critique: around 1:31 the notes drop and seem to struggle for a second to find their way back up.
  2. Thanks for the feedback Henry and Musical. I am directionless with this and I don't know if I should continue; been at this for some time today. I was thinking of a John Williams type of transition, but lack the musical know-how. I'll give an update hopefully in a few weeks!
  3. I think it sounds wonderful. I love the melody at the 16-second mark -catchy.
  4. This sounds professional. It is in the vein of NieR. I can't help but wonder if you used a reverb plugin or if that is an out-of-the-box vst sound. The arpeggio around the 55-second mark is a hook for me. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Just started on this. It sounds chaotic. I would like to put a theme around the 12 - 13-second mark, but stuck. Any thoughts? Does it sound "dry"?
  6. I think you've done a great job. Did you get some of your ideas from Red Alert?
  7. The consistent rhythm and cadence must have taken some time to notate. I like your use of the snare drum between the different instruments. I think you've utilized it as a good hook.
  8. As Alex mentioned, the dissonance is well done. The whole piece sounds similar to Ralph Van Williams, especially around the 2:40 mark. I also agree with Alex in believing this sounds similar to a film score.
  9. I like the big sound you bring out with this piece. The brass sounds good in unison. I love the pianissimo at the 7 minute mark, and the way you subtly allow the brass to fade away.
  10. Thank you AngelCityOutlaw. In retrospect, I think I should've began on it a week earlier. I am not sure I like the way it came out. I am also having a lot of back pain, my composing time is diminished.
  11. This would be great for a noir film. It has a good melody and the sound works well. Did you use VSTs for this?
  12. Thank you, AngelCityOutlaw. I just posted my submission via his application. I made this to keep my mind busy. I am not expecting to win.
  13. This sounds great, and you're using real instruments. I was gonna comment it sounds like 'Symphony of the Night', but I see you already have another Castlevania game in mind. It fits the theme nicely; considering it looks similar to a castle.
  14. This is my entry to the Ryan Leach competition.
  15. Well done. You made good use of the percussion. It sounds similar to the 'Conan the Barbarian' soundtrack in the middle. Your interweaving of the woodwinds with the strings is nicely done near the end. I hope you post more music. Stay safe.
