repeat the whole thing, contrast like crazy. fly with sixteens between the main notes, 4 beat major, 4 beat minor, only sixteen left hand against 1 whole right, only sixteen left hand against 1 whole left, use the unused octaves (2 - 6 - 7 ) for full spectrum harmony. the thing you are scared to do is often the thing that is actually needed, just repeat the whole thing, differently, put your darkest devil in there and then lightfully return to the main melody wich should be your piece soul, the piece should rotate around it like earth rotate around the sun
