  2. This piece I am writing is based of a murder mystery at a historical circus called Merida in Merida, Spain. It’s not finished so I advise to not listen when things get super quiet hahaha. But some constructive criticism as I am half way done would be very helpful. Ps. I suck at percussion scoring. 3. Hello, I began working on a piece that is supposed to depict a derby in the clouds hence the title. It’s supposed to be a quick energetic yet melodic piece, and I’m just at a checkpoint to get feedback before continuing. Let me know if the beginning is a little too harsh I plan on revising that. Also any constructive criticism is welcome. thanks in advance
  4. Light and airy is a bad choice of words, bouncy yes. I was envisioning some type of fall festival and walnuts dropping from trees also was on my mind lol. So I just called the walnut overture, originally it was dance. Your right the trumpet is a harsh in places. thank you guys for the feedback!
  5. I decided to continue working on another piece called the walnut overture. It’s supposed to be a light, airy and bouncy song. Let me know how you like it. It should be finished soon.
  6. I was actually thinking the same exact thing with implementing jazzier feel. Thanks so much for the response. And yeah the sound font irritates me so much.
  7. Something I am working. It’s supposed to depict a murder at the foundry and unraveling the mystery. Lemme know what you think, any suggestions on musicality or dynamics is welcomed. thanks in advance
  8. Thanks for the reply. Yes I agree it is very similar in the beginning, I was thinking of variations to mitigate that. Appreciate the feedback. and here’s the pdf
  9. Hi, this is another piece that I was gonna come back to. It started as a spin off of the waltz no.2 by Shostakovich. I wanted it to feel like a song to actually Waltz to, to kind of feel fun. How does the song make you feel? Any constructive criticism or suggestions on structure and flow would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
  10. Started this piece a while ago, trying to mimic a funeral march fit for a monarch, but I feel like it went a little off the rails at the end. I would just like some feedback on the overall flow of the song, and maybe suggestions on the ending. Should it end with a more optimistic tone or just continue the tone of the beginning? thanks so much in advance
  11. Thank you for the feedback, I agree I have work to do with the dynamics and the overall volume of the piece.
  12. This was supposed to be a piano concerto, but I don’t think it’s that anymore. I would like some input on percussion, and just the overall flow of the song before I finish it. The ending is gonna sound a little different, I know it sounds mellow but it will change. Any constructive criticism is welcomed and appreciated. Background on the song, the title makes the song about love but I also want the overall feeling to be hopeful and optimistic. https://musescore.com/user/1990646/scores/8774397 Lovers_lane.custom_score.mp3 I put the muse score recording and just a regular one. (I like the link better)
  13. Very nice suggestion with the masculine and feminine themes to contrast, I’ll definitely try to incorporate that. Thank you!
  14. Something I started and trying to figure out if it’s worth finishing. any constructive feedback is appreciated, thank you in advance! https://musescore.com/user/1990646/scores/8246609/s/gDuDCa/piano-tutorial
