Ballad Of A Broken Man
Thank you for your advice! I'm still in high school and haven't really learned minor scales yet, but those accidentals seemed like a lot to me. I am in a piano class right now and haven't gotten into writing flats yet, so I made everything in the piece sharp. I touched the key signature up a bit this morning. Repetitiveness is a big issue of mine because I never know what to do next with a song. That's why the violin just repeats the piano part. I also changed that. I also did a few other things. Here's a link to the new and improved version: https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/59000adda1627076d3029f12e56fdf3a6c220874 Anyways, thank you for liking it and once again thanks for the feedback!

Ballad Of A Broken Man
The song repeats itself because I put a repeat sign at the end of it, that translated into the mp3 download as well

Ballad Of A Broken Man
I made this song this morning, I just challenged myself to write something. It started out as just piano but then I added some strings. The instrument sound is a little fake because I made this one in noteflight. Here's the sheet music link: https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/59000adda1627076d3029f12e56fdf3a6c220874

"The Tortoise and the Hare" - A Study in Contrasts - Young Composers Instrumental Music Composition Competition
Could you take me out of the competition? Marching season started and I don't have time to work on this.

The Guardian of the 10 Rivers
Thank you for your feedback! The repeating parts are due to looping the parts. I can loop the same phrase over and over again in Garageband. I also looped the percussion, which resulted in using the gong every measure. What I'd love to do is redo the ending (like you said, too much A-section), but keep the fading away effect (I did this because the entire song is meant to loop). Anyways, thank you for liking the piece!

I realize now after posting this that I could've shaved a minute off the end of it...

The Guardian of the 10 Rivers
Hello again! I made this piece about a month or two ago. I had just watched Spirited Away and got hooked on the song "The Dragon Boy". I remade it in GarageBand, and then decided to make my own song inspired by it. I tried to have an Asian feel to it, using the koto and erhu. My favorite part of it is the marimba. (I wish there was a timpani sound in Garageband...) Here is a link to The Dragon Boy on Youtube

Mach 6 (Low Brass Pep Band Tune)
I had designed this piece specifically for low brass, but maybe in the future I'll add high voices and percussion.

Mach 6 (Low Brass Pep Band Tune)
Oops! Yeah, 5 flats makes a lot more sense. Getting rid of those F Sharps made it easier to read too. Personally, sharps are my enemy when I'm reading music, whether it be in the score or the key signature.

Mach 6 (Low Brass Pep Band Tune)
So I'm in the marching band at my school. As a member of low brass, none of the pep music is fun to play, mostly just whole notes and quarter notes. So, I took it into my own hands to make some pep band music. It was only until after I named the song that I realized it shared the name of the car from Speed Racer. The name just didn't sound right with any other number, so I stuck with it. Here is the link to the score on Noteflight

Wells of Emotion
That's exactly what I did. I don't have a score for it, but I do want to remake it to get rid of the muddiness. I took a listen to Pacific 231. I can see where muddiness should only be used as an effect.

Thank you for your feedback! I agree with you there. I had a little too much going on.

Wells of Emotion
Hello, this is my first post. This looked like an interesting forum. This is also my first piece, and it would be fun to get some feedback. I made it months ago when I learned my band director was leaving to go to another school. I came up with the idea of making a song for him, and I threw this together in a few days. Its not very polished, but I think it's pretty good for my first composition. I tried to put all of my emotions into one song, and a lot of it was just me playing on my keyboard and trying to make it sound good. I made it in GarageBand. If you couldn't tell by the file name, it took me a while to mostly polish it off.
