I first learned the drums at the age of 9, after studying the drums for 2 years I moved on to Piano. I studied Jazz for a long time until I decided to go down my own path and start composing, I always felt like I had a strange understanding of music almost as if it all made sense to me. In my later teens I really put my head down to focus on composition. I started composing around the age of 19-20 and am now 24 dedicating my life to music and composition, I have decided to isolate myself from friends and family, and the world to pursue a life of composing as I feel it is something that overwhelms me and must be my purpose. Music has always been my passion and maybe in 100 years after I die the name "Tom Dahlenburg" might mean something.

  1. Thanks for your constructive feedback, you are right I have rushed the photo and put it without the "r" in written haha.
  2. I wrote this Album using Ableton and a MIDI keyboard
  3. https://m.soundcloud.com/tom-dah/the-very-trickle This composition is a mysterious yet intriguing piece. It was composed using Logic Pro 7.
  4. classic record (online-audio-converter.com) (1).mp3 This is a 17 minute piano piece with 2 parts, the first movement and finishing with the second movement. Composed and Performed By Tom Dhlenburg.
  5. This composition uses only the string/woodwind sections and is motivated by a very simple melody using only 2 chords. This piece is in G Major
  6. This is my 5th strings section classical composition, enjoy.
  7. This is a composition I composed that starts in C Major however works its way all over the place, it uses chord changes like Fmaj to a Bmaj or the tritone chords. There are other strange however intriguing moments with subtle use of bells that provide most of the melodies. This genre of composition is seen hugely in Film music and is a bit of fun to compose when you can. I wouldn't be able to give a rational answer to what key signature it is purely "based in" other than how the piece introduces with a gentle C major as I mentioned before. I have thought this possibly means putting it in the key of C major however I'm not certain yet. Any feedback or reviews would be greatly appreciated.
  8. This really impressed me, it seems to all fit very comfortably almost as if perfectly/carefully notated. Incredible use of all instruments and the rapid resolves make the symphony sound almost like something that should be highly regarded or remembered as a true composer. The understanding you have of phrasing and scales together is extremely powerful and inspiring. You have the compositional ear of one of the greats is my opinion, very well done.
  9. This is a composition I composed a while ago however I still enjoy reflecting on how I work around the tonic or D Major, the composition takes advantage of rapid scales based in D and mostly resolves around the diatonic 1, 4 and the dominant 5. The finish took me a long time to perfect as it resolves with quick staccato chords and rapid changes resolving to a sudden D maj that ends the piece with an energetic yet comforting feel. If anyone has any questions or input into the piece please comment below.
  10. Just yesterday I sat at the piano for hours trying to figure out a simple riff or a motive that feels unique/different. I finally decided on a basic G Major phrase that would repeat itself or "stand out" in my 15th Concerto classical composition. The finish is a little bit of a reach out however it seems to achieve solid closure and resolve the composition.

  12. This action piece wasn't bad, it reminded me of an old western movie or maybe even "the good the bad and the ugly". I just finished 30 minutes of Action suites myself if you want to have a listen, it's a difficult genre of composition it really is. I'll attach it below
  13. This 7 Song Album is the next big thing, I just want to celebrate and start writing my second album. This "Tonight It Is" is going through the roof, it's very clever songwriting and might even get me drinking today.
  14. This is my first Album that is finally starting to get around a bit on the internet I have spent a long time writing these songs and have just started releasing it on spotify/bandcamp. It's some of the best Dance/Vibe Music all written on Ableton...
  15. Hi, I really enjoyed the piece, especially at 1:16 when the orchestra really comes in. It's very relaxing, I could picture this music as the introduction to a movie or a documentary.
