    Piracy

As far as RPG Maker goes. I'm actually part of a forum for those programs. There's been a 2003, and XP version. All translated of course, but there's been a lot of talk about an official English version. And I agree with the small business thing. Huge corperations, as well as high profile singers and song writers, won't even notice that their sales aren't in the millions for another few days. Most of their money comes from endorsements, and such.

    Piracy

Oh, we're referring to two different things here. When I was talking about pirating, I was only referring to personal use. Now selling the software, that I do not at all agree with. If it's for yourself, then I can tolerate it, but no one should receive any profit from someone else's hard labour.
  3. Just keep in mind that the site is still growing. Already, hundreds of people come here to learn and express, and there will be a lot more. Just keep doing as you're doing, and they'll come. As far as critiquing goes, I could possibly do some if you guys just can't reply to all of the works here, unless this is something that you'd rather save for the higher ranking members. Just to let you know that I am brutally honest.

    Piracy

Or does music follow the same rules as art? If the composer is dead, then who's going to get the money from royalties and such? I think that this is some subject for debate here.
  5. These are really great. The bass style is by far my favourite style of playing. Much more interesting than just one pluck every chord change. As Wolf said a long time ago, some of it can be a bit redundant, but that makes it perfect backround music, like in a video game or something. You definately deserve a top ten slot. Good job.

    Memory

Nah, I can't place it either. It's a very picturesque kind of song. Though after the first 5 min, it........I really don't know how to describe this. It sounds a lot like some of the scenes from the SNES game, Earthbound. Very strange indeed.

    The High Road

Thanks! I've been trying to teach my band this song, but it'll be a little while. The solos are brutal to learn. Even I have to sit down a while to remember them.

    The High Road

The High Road This is one of my favorite compositions. I made it using the PS2 program, Music Generator 2 and I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I do. It's all completed, except for minor things: bass variations (since there are very, very few) and maybe some solo improvements. I'll take any comments, good or bad.
  9. If they were in different rooms, you would need some pretty tight timing and co-ordination. But this sounds like quite a feat to pull off.
  10. This idea is just for a sub-forum, I think. It would only be for organization, so we could find all the debates easily. But it's really not that big of a deal.

    Piracy

I didn't mean to come across as someone who supports this kind of thing. I myself am in a band who's recently been trying to get recorded professionally. I know I certainly wouldn't want my music pirated. And as for the "easy way out", sometimes it's the only way out if there's no place to buy that kind of program. What if it's been discontinued and therefore isn't sold anymore? Is it still stealing even though nobody's losing anything?
  12. All right. After hearing some of it, I came to realize that something wasn't quite....."live"sounding. All the timings were too perfect. I have a nice 4:00 composition that I'll have to post here soon. I'd do it now, but I'm off to school in ten minutes so it'll have to wait.
  13. I could live with that. @Wolf: I see what you're saying. We tend to only allow certain people into certain debates, simply because there's a lot of jerks out there who just want to stir up trouble.
  14. Now this is cool. I'm just wondering if this is all a live recording? Meaning, is it real people playing all this and not just a computer? If computer, pretty convincing. If live, man you're good.
  15. I've been at a few forums that have debate sub-forums, and so far, nothing bad has come out of them. I guess it's just becuase for almost every heated moment, someone always points out that it's not from aggression or even a personal thing that they're saying stuff, it's just their opinion. If anything, I've come to respect those who debate a lot without making enemies.
