  1. This is a composition for piano that I wrote before summer. I lost the sibelius file, though, when my computer crashed, :( so I just have the mp3 file I made of it, :P. Link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/u308qt www.sendspace.com/file/u308qt
  2. Digital Dreamer This is my first real attempt at writing electronic music of this specific sort that I have been somewhat satisfied with the results (I don't usually write electronic music, so this was sort of a first experiment that happened at 6 AM in the morning. there should be vocals with it, but I felt that it would be best not to include them, because a low quality vocal recording from my mic probably wouldn't enhance the track in any way). Any constructive criticism is welcome, and will be greatly appreciated, :D.
  3. hmm, let's see. Yes, I have knowledge of Major and minor scales, as well as seventh chords (although I would like to understand 7th chords in more detail). I don't really have much (if any) knowledge about modes (I have an idea of what they are, but that is about it).
  4. It's okay, I'm totally okay with waiting (I completely understand, i've had a lot of school work and band-related things that have made getting online rather difficult lately as well).
  5. I haven't done a CMC in a while (well, this would be my second, :D), so I'd love to give this one a try, :D
  6. Great, so I understand so far, :D I think I'm ready to continue now.
  7. I think i understand what you are saying so far. So basically, instead of the bass simply playing the root note in a progression, the bass plays different notes that add to the overall feel of what the other band members are playing and at the end the tension (i hope i haven't misused that word) is resolved by the bass playing the same note as the other band members?
  8. Good Morning Will Kirk! :D Am I able to study "Jazz Bass - sight reading, hand training, and bass theory" or are each of those three seperate lessons? If so, I would like to study "Jazz Bass - bass theory" please, :)
  9. Thank you, I'll look into getting Cubase SE3 most likely in the near future (I found it for a pretty nice price online), although I'll probably have to upgrade from Windows 2000 first. Also, I know this may seem completely unrelated, but I noticed that your initials are FL and we were talking about Fl-Studio. I know that was kind of random, but I found it humorous for some reason. :D
  10. Well, umm, here is a composition that I had written around the end of last year for "something" (it was for something I'm sure, but i forgot what, so it kind of lost its purpose...that makes no sense, i know :P)...Anyway, once again, any comments/constructive criticisms would be greatly appreciated, as I believe they will help me to improve. Here is the mp3 file for it: Ex Animo And I wrote this in Finale (before my cd broke...), so I've included the .mus and midi files as attachments. Ex Animo Overture.MID Ex Animo Overture.MUS
  11. hmm, well thank you for the comments. I truly don't know what to say in reply though (well, i'm used to constructive criticism by now, so I'll try to use this to address such issues brought forth of this "composition", and work for improvement), although I will bring forth a better effort for next time. As for everything sounding midi, that can be partly attributed to the fact that I was unable to notate it in Finale, as I had originally intended, so I used soundfonts and vsti with FL Studio for the instruments, which may not have been the best idea for this "composition". In truth, the chords were originally meant to be played by an accoustic guitar, but I decided at the last minute to do so on a piano...I'm still not sure why myself...Of course I'll continue my studies, but I'll also work through trial and error for improvement (as brought forth, based on this "composition", clearly I still have many errors to correct), although I will state that I didn't "just find notes on my keyboard and use them"...i...used my guitar, ;D (well, for the beginning part for the piano at least). Once again, thank you for your comments.
  12. This is a little composition that I wrote for a project for my reading class. I wasn't really quite sure whether it should fall under chamber music or large ensemble actually, so I apologize if I didn't properly categorize it. I still consider myself pretty new to composing, so any comments/constructive criticisms would be greatly appreciated, :D Here it is as an mp3: Testament And I've attached it as a midi file. :D Testament.mid
  13. umm, hi, did you get my entry (i hope i didn't send/format it wrong)?
  14. This competition sounds like fun, a theme I can definately make music on, I'm in.
