  1. MrJazz, I love you :P Great music, and you have great ways of introducing it too, makes me laugh each time.
  2. MIDI please.
  3. Very nice! First off, I don't talk too much about the good parts when criticising, for various reasons. So don't get upset if I (or others who share my mentality) only talk about the bad parts :) I don't know much about jazz, I'm mainly a classical pianist. However, it sounds like the drums are too repetitive. And there might be a bit more room for development in terms of variation. Perhaps give the bass a solo, with the piano providing a chord or two every chord change?
  4. I broke up the first minute of the mp3 into left and right channels on separate channels. Hear for yourself: left.mp3 right.mp3 And here's a waveform depiction of the left and right channels (top is left, bottom is right).
  5. Please please please do not listen to the midi file unless you need to look at the notes... midi is completely unlike what it should sound like. I took absolutely no time trying to make the midi sound good, since it's not really for the purpose of listening.
  6. One thing I noticed immideately. That base is too far to the left... perhaps pan it a bit closer to centre. My ears will bleed if it's there for 4 mins :)
  7. I have a feeling you should start off with a reverse cymbal. The release part of the trebuchet firing could be involved with some strings. And whenever the projectile is flying, you could have a descending passage of woodwinds.
  8. Here's a song I wrote a while ago, approximately a year back, to lyrics from my friend. It was to be (and eventually was) performed at a concert in school. I wrote it using Melody Assistant, one of my favourite programs to write music. Regardless, here's why I have come to you. 1) Minor reason: comment on the song as it is now, perhaps suggest changes to make it better (in terms of tech and composition) 2) Major reason: I need to convert this song to a piano-only (plus voice). Before, I had a small band performing it. Now, I'll be entering a contest, and due to various reasons, I won't be able to play this song with the rest of the band. So we'll keep it down to 2 people, me playing the piano and the vocalist... singing. Here's the thing. After having heard this so, so many times before (while writing it and such), that it's really hard for me to get it out of my mind the way it is now and change it to piano+vocals only, reducing all the other instruments. So here's why I'm here. I ask you to help me convert this music to 2 parts, piano and voice. Please, would someone be kind and adventureous to go and try to fulfill my mission :) Much, much appreciation would be available. midi version (absolutely pathetic sound, I only suggest using this if you need to see the notes) mp3 version (this is what it should really sound like if performed by the band) Thanks to anyone who attempts to undertake this project. Or just comment, that works too :) Denis
