  1. Thanks thanks for the comments!! I also posted this on vgmusic and they had members comment that it wasn't grandious enough to be an Air Theme. I thought it sounded fine alone, but then again, when I was writing it, I was rushing to get it out, so I went back to it, and now I updated it with some light percussion which might make it sound a little better, who knows? thanks for listening =) vg6.mid
  2. I wrote this one a couple of days ago. It's supposed to convey an RPG battle, obviously, hahaa. Uhh, it took me two days to write it, and again, like the rest of my music, I was too lazy to orchestrate it, so you can imagine it orchestrated if you want. Umm, I'm not really sure what else I can say about it. There are some parts that are supposed to be 6/8 as opposed to 3/4 or visa versa, but the person playing the game isn't watching the notation anyways, so I didn't change them even though I should have. I also chose 13/8 instead of 9/8 and 2/4 or any other combination cause it looked cooler, haha. Also I guess there are some parts I could put in dynamics, but I'm never too confident with Finale that it'll play them how I want, so when I orchestrate it, I'll put them in. There, that's all I have to say. I hope you all like it =) -Richard vg7.mus vg7.mid
  3. I wrote this one the other day. I wanted to write an Air/Sky theme, and I personally thought it worked well as one, but one of my friends also suggested that it sounds good as an Ending theme, so I'm throwing that up in the air as well. I decided to turn it into something other than boring piano, so I hope you like the instrumentation. I also haven't bothered to make dynamics because right now I'm having way to much fun just getting things to come out. I've barely written anything in two years and suddenly, within two weeks, I've come up with seven (so far). I'll give them to you one by one though as not to daunt you or anything. Enjoy, and comments are very appreciated! =D vg6.mus vg6.mid
  4. Thanks, sorry, I haven't been able to respond because I'm on a vacation in Puerto Rico, and unfortunately enough, I have to stand slightly outside this mosquitoland to get any usable signal. I noticed the lack of any heavy chords as soon as the loop began because it's just two lines. I'm going to see if I can fix that when I orchestrate it (if I ever get around to doing that, =P) Again, thank you so much for your kind comments =D
  5. My top six Mahler- Symphony No. 06 Stravinsky- Firebird Suite Beethoven- Symphony No. 06 Elgar- Cello Concerto Anonymous- Black is the Color of my True Love's Hair Holst- Suite No. 01 in Eb for Military Band
  6. I thought his score was in C? I'm not sure if that still affects the french horn because it isn't transposed. I'm relying on memory right now, so I might be wrong.
  7. I like the consistency of this. It kind of sounds like something out of like a chase scene or some sort of suspense moment. The instrumentation also makes it sound almost like a band or marching band piece, which is pretty cool because you could easily port it to one or the other. Marching band is also a show, so you're on the right track. The E-natural at 28 was unexpected, but thinking about it gives me a good feeling, so I believe it was a neat little spice. The first time listening through it, there was a melody that sounded a little awkward, but on my second listening, I couldn't find it anymore, so I guess it was just me. Great composition, I can't wait to hear the full thing!
  8. I would use it if it forwarded the mail to my gmail account. It's a great idea because that way you can give it to people and they can instantly see from your email address what it is you're about, and that's composition.
  9. I was playing on the piano the other day with my really limited piano "skillz" and I came up with a nice little melody that I eventually turned into a song. Right now it's just scored for piano, but that's because I just needed to get it out as fast as possible. I think that I'm eventually going to orchestrate it. It didn't take long to write it. I initially wrote it in about four hours and then I editted it today (about an hour or two) to make it loop endlessly (video game style). The modulation before the repeat was so hard, because I kept on hearing a key change and I didn't want a key change, I wanted a repeat, but I finally got it. vg1.mid vg1.mus
  10. Lets say I have three staves. Flute French Horn Bassoon Is there any way to flip French Horn and Bassoon so that all the data stays the same but it's just a cosmetic difference. I want to know if it's possible to have it show like that even in studio view. I suppose I could make a temporary stave and just use the mass mover, but then the attributes wouldn't stick around and I would have to go to the staff tool and edit everything again.
