  1. Interesting, but there is a lack of flow in many of the pieces. Perhaps this fits the ideas you wanted to depict, but if you were to connect your ideas a bit more fluently, I would appreciate the individual ideas much more.
  2. Maybe a few bars of introductionary pianissimo preceding it? It's too "in your face" for me without a more of an introduction.
  3. Some people like sound. Some people besides sound, also like music.
  4. Ego is often a result of indulging.
  5. Hah, follow your heart. If you fail, that's life.
  6. I stumbled across these legal ebooks. Perhaps they are of interest for others. Frederick Chopin, as a Man and Musician
  7. Because I think it's rather funny.
  8. I think you are fooling yourself if you think that art has anything to do with ultimate reality. Because tell me now, what is ultimate reality? You have no more than a hunch, which is destined to be wrong, because the basis of this hunch would just be a giant mess of human perception. And human perception has nothing to do with ultimate truth and reality, merely with conventional truth and reality. Ultimate truth is not explainable in words, nor comprehendable as a conventional concept. Art is merely the manifestation of the will to be, or in other words: a manifestation of self. It is human nature to create and explore, because it believes that there is a self that creation will do something good for the self. You can't argue that somebodies answer to the initial question is either wrong or right, unless flawed logic is used.
  9. Criticism, fine, however negative. But use the right words, and it will have a better effect. It is also to look at the experience of a composer.
  10. No you don't. Pain of heart is not a gift. It takes a while for the human heart to build a shell strong enough to take harsh criticism. Youngsters are insecure. This insecurity grows with rejection. Stimulate, uplift, etc. Never is there a need to make another person feel bad about his creations. People feel that they put a bit of themselves in the art they make. So, when rejected, this projects onto themselves. Do not ask of youngsters to be like grown-ups. Just set an example by constraining yourself to useful and constructive words. These can be critical, as long as they take the individual upwards, not downwards. This is best for their heart and development.
  11. First of all a short introduction is probably appropriate, and helpful in determining an answer to my question. It was early July of this year that I first became interested in performing and writing music. That same month I bought a keyboard. Initially I focussed on Hiphop style music, but got bored with it after a few weeks. I then started practicing piano on my keyboard. But performing the work of other people was also boring to me. I wanted to compose, this was my initial motivation to buy the keyboard. So I devoured some books on theory, while writing simple little pieces. I have come to a point where the music itsself is not much of a problem, but what I need is a form, a framework to accomodate the music. I therefore ask: What is a good form to begin with?
