  1. ...........:whistling:
  2. sorry i meant playing on piano, not strings
  3. I love D sharp minor, my favourite pieces are all in that key (or Ebminor) scriabins 8 12 etude, chopins 14th prelude, rachmaninovs elegy...
  4. Play his works they way you think they should be played, but obviously follow the 'advice' on the sheets. the man is dead now and we have no recordings so its impossible to play them perfectly, but its all opinion. Personnaly, i dramatise it all, as he was a romantic composer. But you must not lose the subtleties in the music, make hints and suggestions of parts that are to come later in the piece, or make it sound like its about to explode when you know its not going to. Take the music on a journey. Thats what i do anyway
  5. muse...they are the best live band you will see, they are the best sample 'pop' music has to offer in terms of live ability
  6. hmm i tihnk you'll find its about even, the vast majority of Field's nocturnes were in major, and this one is in DbMajor, rest assured, i play it
  7. Peter and the Wolf ; Classic :P
  8. what makes metal 'pop' and classical not 'pop'!? really, define that and ill accept your point and just by the by, nowadays pop is a genre, like metal and dance, the notion that its named so becuase its popular is outdated, and no longer really has true meaning. pop music is a style of music
  9. right, gianluca, im all for fre speech and what not, but my god would cut the crap, just a bit!??! 'stalinistic'!??!?!?!? feckin heck! there is mroe than classical and pop music, unless your classifying heavy metal, dance, jazz and samba all as pop... in that case, well i pity you:blush:
  10. In the end, people make the music they want to hear, or they make music they want to make them rich. Who are we to judge someone's ambitions? Pop music, or more specifically dance music, maybe be 'uncultured' as someone put, but its about dancing, so in that respect, its absolutley brilliant. Ever been anywhere with loud dance music, you HAVE to dance, its compelling.
  11. id also like to point out radiohead's (thom yorke's) favourite time signature is 7/8 and his favourite chord is 'Am/-5' yeh, how conventionally 'pop'...
  12. a chinese scale? ... :P chopin wrote a piece almost exclusively for black keys, there are some white notes, it depends on how difficult the piece you write is, the more difficult it gets the more the need for white keys increases i think
  13. this is my first chamber piece, i dont usualy dabble in orchestra, only piano and modern rock music. this piece, it doesnt really have a direction, the main idea is to get the listener to completely let go, mentally :P please review and comment thanks. Download chamber.mp3
  14. chopin's ballade coda no.1 in g minor, its hard...just bout gettin to grips with it
  15. ohhhhhhhh soooooooooo gooood!!! that was fantastic, i cant remmber if you've changed it, i tihnk you have a lot, but its brilliant, i really really like it, ill try to make time to learn it and get a recording up for you to hear
