  1. Yeah that's a practical solution... u can learn music eventhough you're not a music student... sometimes nonmusic students are better than those who take formal music studies
  2. id rather constantly find a job in a field im passionate about then work a steady job i hate. you get one life, and im ready to make sacrifices for music. i advise anyone who wants to choose music as a career to give it everything you have and dont worry bout finding a job when youre 17 and in high school. if for some reason i cant make it in music and i die in the streets next to the bum.....ill be dead and wont care, at least i tried WOw... just like what happened to Mozart... if you're really a musician what you'll care about is your music and how you do it and how you'll let people listen... just that.. not the money... :sadtears:
  3. Cool... i like FF too... if ever u find the right title for your compo please post it :( just wanna know
  4. Hi newbie here...i'm Fiona 1. Do you play any instrument(s)? If so which one(s). (Vocal chords count as an instrument if you can sing from score) --- I sing...that's my forte...i'm a music student btw ---i can play piano...violin ( required before) --- just started my lessons in Cello 2. What do you compose? Do you write music for song, or do you compose pure instrumentals, or both? --- both...mostly with ASIAN-like tunes 3. If you compose instrumentals what type(s) do you compose? Solo’s, Duets, Chamber, Band, Orchestral, other? --- solos...i can make it into a duet --- instrumental... 4. What genre of music are your most interested in composing. --- COntemporary --- most of my compos sound Asian --- Jrock, Jpop 5. What, if any, are your favorite musical instruments or combinations of instruments? --- piano-guitar ---piano-violin ---chamber orchestra ---piano-voice ---guitar-voice Please feel free to elaborate any special interests that you have with respect to composing or playing musical instruments. I can't specify the genre of the music i wanna compose...i think all genres can be coimbined together...
  5. hi Saiming and to everyone newbie here Hi i'm also a music student who's financially problemed. Actually i have a lot to pay to the school even after i graduate. It's a long story. anyway, I have friends that should have taken music but their reason for not taking it is because their not sure if they'll have a future taking it. Same answer: Can't tell... the future's complicated and it's even scary... but i just believe you'll have one if you persevere and aim to be the best... why did i take music?: coz that's the only course i know i'll excel... i don't even have an ultimate dream yet...it takes time to think... i'm just not wasting time...
  6. hi newbie here... just glad that modern artists ( like regina spektor) have a touch of classical in their music... i've been in despair seeing my fellowmen idolizing irrelevant novelty songs which are non sense... btw, i'm a filipino... there are a lot of good artists here but since most people enjoy those senseless novelty songs the good artists try to fit in...for money too i think... it's just sad because they are not able to give out their real music... Modern music here (to me) sucks... at least some are still with class but they are very few... Combining a touch of classical and jazz to some music here will be great. Good for changing the standards of music here coz it's honestly going down...
  7. last_life: I compose for myself...i mean... i write songs the way i want it not the way people want it... it just so happens that i'm the type of person who doesn't care how people think of me... i write music to express what i feel... i want to listen to my own music and for me that's one way of showing what you've learned in music, the techniques; also showing what you think of things and what you've learned in life... :)
  8. ummm... I also think the piano version's better than the synth... The title single hope suits it if it's the piano version... It's like " here comes hope", there's hope, we can make it... if we believe... I like it... especially the last part. it sounds interesting... is there a lot of changes in the time signature?
