  7. hope this helps you all feel the story and the reason why i did what i did in this composition :P
  8. well, first of all, thanks so much guys for your comments!! idk if this helps you feel the piece, but it is meant to be a story of a dolphin which begins in the very calm and flowing environment of its mother, father and relative dolphins - very calm and happy then it is kinda scared to leave its family - which is showed in the couple measures with the harmonic minor scales. then it is very active and enjoys the freedom of the wild "outdoors" soon, it runs into a shark which accounts for the extreme atonality experienced. the dolphin manages to hide cleverly and the shark fails to catch him. then the dolphin comes out of hiding, and then faints he wakes up and finds himself surronded by his supportive and caring family and the piece closes happily note: it could also be considered a dream - where after "leaving the family" it falls asleep and has a nightmare - and the high major 7th chords at the end are him waking up and finding him in a happy relaxing family environnment
  9. so here it is! lol ive been working on this piece for like two years lol i guess i dont compose too often ;) heres the finale file if any of you want to see it and also the midi just a note: at the end there are a couple of random fermatas in the midi file - thats just because finale is terrible at playing your music back correctly PLEASE COMMENT!!! :D floating_dreams.MUS floating_dreams.MID

  14. I decided to write a pop/rock piece - and i figured i'd start with the lyrics - well...here they are lol hope you like them! (I am terrible at english, so my choice of words probably isnt very good) I WANT TO KNOW Why do they do this I just dont understand. They smile and tease us But we know its all planned They flirt and they please us But what does it mean Cuz when you pursue it She turns her head and leaves. Oh, I want to know What girls are thinking What goes through their minds When they hurt us like that. If only they'd show Just what they wanted - Oh, I want to know. I met this sweet girl At a party last week. We talked and laughed And as we started to speak We smiled, leaned closer. And closing my eyes, I sigh - Oh. am I such a lucky guy! But what do you expect When everything is goin cool? She pushes me away. I feel like a damn fool. Now I'm standing here With nowhere to go. Now what do I do? Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh! I want to know What girls are thinking What goes through their minds When they hurt us like that. If only they'd show Just what they wanted - Oh, I want to know. I want to know. The END
  15. if i was composing this, i would make the 4/4 measure 3/4 - and make the quarter note "d" an eight note and go right in to the "c", since there is no need to stop the flow of the music just becuse you're going back to the original theme - maybe you could add a slight ritard or a breath mark if you want
