Hey Derek, Im a fellow fan of jarret too! Perhaps its because of him that I decided to study jazz improvisation. I think like you too about improvisation: most people, think about an improvisation is light thing to do, but it isnt. something happens when I improvise that i cant put in words... Its like an amount of incredible energy came from somewhere. But, besides jazz musicians based 80% of their studies on improvisation, somehow their 'expressive range' is quite reduced. Dont you think? Have you heard the Jazz trio of jarrett, peacock and dejohnette? Its name is 'Always Let Me Go' For my, thats an example of expressive places that jazz musicians dont go ofen on improvisation. I ' ll hear your website. It's nice talking to you!

Derek, Great performance! Id love to hear more of this improvisations. More! Why is that most of this forums doesnt have improvisations? The tittle remain me the jarrett improvisation october 17, on his "paris concert" But the music takes my to another place, a more "impressionistic" vision of things, i mean, that remaind me to chopin pieces.(I also give my own improvisations the name of the day that they came) the second movement is the one i most liked. And the begining of the first. Question: The came all toghether the movements? Or yue said 'I'm going to improvise with a 3 movement form? Bruno

gameexpertmaster, Nice to hear your music. I' liked it, i think its honest, and very deeply too. This is samething that you have written down? It remains me varius musicians: keith jarret at first , then the young Beethoven, but i hear personal style too. I think, may be it would be structuraly clearer if , you start with closed chords (as you do) then starts with the arppegios , and then you end it again with chosed chords, re exposing the first motive to anunce the end of the piece. Frantz, Thanks for your comments! I also think that we are i XXI century and its imposible to write music in an old paradigm. But, I meet people that thinks that tonality is dead, and that we have to make music in another system. I dont know, for me its about systems of expresion: when i need to be tonal , its ok, i need it, and when need to make another music , then i make it with other element. Anyways, your music is beatyfull to me! PD: GPO is better that east west samples? Sibelius better than finale? I use Sibelius with GPO, but i want better sounds.. Their exists? Thanks!

frantz, Excuse my english please! Id liked your piece, it clearly on barroque style wich is music that I love. I think a more italian barroque. (remained me Scarlatti) Harmonicly and contrapuntually is in the style, But, (It only my opinion) if I wish to compose a barroque piece, i should paid atention especially to the phrases. For example: In the 15 second, I hear clearly the end of the first pharse, which is constructed on the V chord. Some how I need a little space to breath. Then, it can be said that in second 22 it hapens again. A little breath is needed. So, structarly the first 55 sec its like A . In homophonic music you can say that an A or part of music its constructed because the development of phrases, each one built up with the development of the first motive. (the first 3 seconds of your piece) So if i hear the first A, I can hear 2 big pharses. Then the A its repeated. The rest of the piece is less clearly structuraly. On the other hand, if you are self tought then you have a gift i have to say. The book of schoemberg: 'Fundamentals-Musical-Composition' (which i havent finished) is the best book i found on these matter. (phrases) I hope I ve helped you with my point of view. Torsten, I liked very much your music. I think because it takes me to a place, and because it sounds genuine. Your music touched me. I like the utilitation of frigian modes on guitar as you used, I felt it was connected to the spirit of flamenco and brazilian folk may be, like I've heard on Gismonti music.
