  1. Here it is, and sorry for taking so long! And if it is not too much trouble, could you post the exercises in .mus? I can't really open .pdf files. Thanks, Mithril 1.MUS
  2. I really like this! Nice and smooth. I think you should definitely write a four-mallet part for the marimbas though to add some more flair. I also thought the ending was too abrupt and very unexpected in a bad way. Again, great job!
  3. I love this piece! Madness indeed...
  4. Yeah, Joe Hisaishi is definitely my favorite composer. I love a lot of film composers but he is my favorite by far.
  5. I have a question, why is this piece in the incidental music section and not the chamber works?
  6. I like the 110 the best, but my second favorite would be the slow one. Maybe something between the two?
  7. Thanks so much! Actually the "reflection" in the title referred to someone reflecting on their past and not really like a mirror. I thought that was an interesting idea though, to incorporate mirroring the melody, so I'm working on it.
  8. It's just a small local recital and I don't know what it's called. I guess that's why no one I've talked to knows any of these! Thanks for your help though.
  9. Is this your first composition ever or first composition using finale? If it is your first composition ever, I think it is awesome! Well it's still great even if it isn't your first piece. Too bad I don't have a duet partner because I would love to play this!
  10. I am need of snare solo advice for a competition. I am not that good on the snare and am also doing many other solos for the same competition, so I need the easiest one. Below is the list of approved solos. If anyone has heard or played any of these, please tell me if you liked it and it was relatively easy. This would help soooo much! Stuart's System for Success (Beck) Three Dances for Solo Snare (Benson) Suite for Solo Snare Drum (Frock) Crash Landing (Hurley, Marty) The Phancy Phantom (Hurley, Marty) The Clave King (Hurley, Marty) Nitaka Dawn [Yama Mama Moto] (Kastuck, Steve) G.L.S. (Keown) The Musical Snare Drummer (Keown) Rudimental March (Knain/Gilgenast) Movin' In (Kristensen) Stick Shift (Kristensen) Second Suite for Solo Snare Drum (LaRosa, Michael) Contemporary Contest Solo for Snare (LaRosa, Michael) All-State Snare Drum Solo no. 2 (Lepuk, Alexander) Three Styles Suite (Leu) The Meter Beater (Morey) Coordination (Pratt) Exhibition Snare Drum Solo no. 1 (Price, Paul) All-State Drummer (Schinstine) Speed Trap (Spede) Snare Drum Solo (Tuthill, G.) Punctuality (Varner)
  11. Hello everyone! This is a short piano piece, Ripples of Reflection, that I just recently finished. Now I want to change the instrumentation and expand the melody in some parts. I don't really know how to go about doing this, though. I am new at composing so lots of criticism and advice will be appreciated! r and r.mid
