Profile Information

  • Biography
I started composing electronic music over 40 years ago (so not really a "young" composer, but young at heart!), initially using reel-to-reel tape recorders and various equipment I designed and built myself. Over the years I moved from analog synthesizers to a digital setup. My interest in animation began with an assignment to score a short animated film; this was followed by several additional assignments. I also collaborated with visual artists and dancers in a number of projects.

About ten years I revitalized my love for animation by starting to create my own films, for which I also compose the music and do the sound design. So I finally found a new purpose for my music!

  1. Toru Takemitsu Krzysztof Penderecki Bernard Herrmann There are more, but I'm bad at names. I've found it constructive to listen to gotradio's The Big Score on the internet and determine what I don't like about many of the current Hollywood film composers. They play Herrmann as well, and the difference is clear.
