  1. Hi, I have been struggling to get EWQLSO Gold Edition to work for me for several weeks now. I noticed that I did not meet the minimum RAM requirements for the program, so I installed 2 GB or RAM and I am now at the recommended amount. However, it seems as though this was not the only problem. Whenever I try to run EWQLSO Gold Edition it goes straight to a blue screen. The first time I ran it the blue screen displayed, IRQ_COMPLETE_REQUEST. The second time a ran it, it displayed IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have already updated my sound driver and I meet all minimum requirements. I have sent out a tech support ticket on the EastWest forums but they are not responding. Please help me determine what the problem is so I can decide what action to take next. Thanks in advance.
  2. Thanks for the help robertn. It works fine now. lol Will :)
  3. Hi, I currently have been trying to use REAPER along with EastWest Symphonic Orchestra: Gold Edition to create computer music. However, I have been having trouble exporting what I have. I guessed that to export a project to a .wav or .mp3 file, you would go to file/render and go from there. However every single file I make always creates an unknown error in Windows Media Player. Every time I try to play one of these files it says "Locating codec server..." and then says that an unknown error has occurred. I know it is not a problem with Symphonic Orchestra because the REAPER sample file does this as well. This program obviously must have a working export function but I must not be using it properly. If anyone has any idea what the problem is please post. Thanks in advance.
  4. I may be mistaken but the demo of REAPER I have says that it is not free and I will have to buy it 30 days. I do not know if it is am appropriate question or whether or not you know, but how do you import instruments into REAPER? I have imported my MIDI and have showed it the area to find the VST but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to load the EWQLSO instruments. Any help on this and the original question is still much appreciated.
  5. Hi, I recently purchased Symphonic Orchestra: Gold Edition from EastWest. I remember some of the sequencers/notation software that were recommended to work with this software (Sonar, Sybilius, etc.) but they are all way too expensive. I was hoping that someone could recommend me a cheap sequencer that can do the following: Import MIDI files I have created Load the EWQLSO instruments to the loaded MIDI data Export to wav/mp3 I currently own a notation program called PrintMusic that can export my music to MIDI. I really do not think the sequencer I need has to be expensive. Even if you are not sure the program you were going to recommend is appropriate for me, post it anyway. All help is deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  6. A few questions:Is there anything on kvraudio that will give you a package of instruments rather then just one? Each are very expensive and I do not know if they are for me. Also, is reaper capable of creating its own custom midi files rather than just layering recorded sounds? Thanks again.
  7. Absolutely beautiful. Just the way you expanded the main theme in so many directions while still keeping it interesting was amazing. I agree with some of the others that the arpeggio harmonies that appear at the very beginning are used a little to much throughout the piece. Just change some of the rhythm/notes in the harmonies and the piece will be perfect! Fantastic job! P.S. I am very curious to which what program/sampler you used to playback the sound. It sounded like a true performance and you already stated that it was digitally created. Please tell me what you used!
  8. I first composed my very first melody while fiddling on the violin when I was around 8-9 years old and was interested in composing ever since. I then started taking lessons in composition and learned about the art of harmony. It really is an amazing hobby for me and may become something serious in the future.
  9. Thanks for the replies, they were very helpful. I should have clarified that I needed the program for mostly playback/exporting purposes and that I would not like to spend more than 400-$500. I guess I'd be better off posting this in the finale forum but I tried out the finale demo and I found the sounds very thin and not realistic. I listened to some demo sounds and they sounded amazing. Are all the good sounds only available in the full version or is the demo version have all the sounds your going to get?
  10. Hi, I am interested in purchasing a music composition program for me to create music for my brother's game. I would like to say that I am not interested in a program that only provides premade tracks for people who are not really composers. I am an actual composer and I would like something that will not limit me to what I can put into it. You may think that I am being very picky in what I am about to say but keep in mine that everything is not completely necessary. I am looking for a music-making program that has a large assortment of traditional instruments (guitar, orchestra, drums, etc.) as well as techno instruments and sounds (like synthesizers). It is important that I am able to export to a wav or mp3 file so that it can be imported into other programs. Although not completely necessary, I want it to also be able to load pre-made MIDI files and export it using its own sounds. I want it to have high-quality audio and have the ability to add effects and filters to the music. Obviously, it needs to have multiple tracks and sound layering. It would be nice if it had an easy to understand interface that allows you to create notes quickly and easily. All of these things are important, but if you know of a program that has at least 1 of these things tell me where I can find it. Thanks in advance, I'm looking forward to participating in these forums! :D.
