  1. Thanks Ferkungamabooboo for your comment, much appreciated! I agree with some of your opinions and I ll probably work on some parts...
  2. Ok, the link is the following Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire
  3. Hi everybody, this is my last composition. It is part of a three -chapters song and this part is the second therefore there is the introduction and the conclusion. The song stands up on its own nevertheless. Same as all my previous composition, it has a "flowing" structure, so from the beginning it develops until it gets a certain momentum, slows down and then finishes on a grand finale. The mixing is not amazing so please do not complain about the sound quality. I would like to hear opinions about the song, whether to develop certain parts etc Khmer - Thorns Thanks
  4. Thanks Jamie for you reply and your advices. I tried to change the bass line where you said but it doesnt convince me even because I would have to change the second guitar rhythm as well and it sounds weird, maybe because I m so used to the song as it is. About the song quality: I know midi is crap but it does the job to conserve the melodies you want to reproduce. Hopefully, if I`ll be rich enough I`m gonna get everything played an recorded by humans at the beginning of next year. In a way is funny that loads of people evoke this similarity with Isis which I cant deny is present although I have listened to one album of Isis (Panopticon) probably three times ;) Here you can find another song I ve uploaded in the past for "Young composers" purposes and it would be interesting if you tell me your opinion about it, as I can see you have knowledge of the musical genre I do. And to respond to your final question: I play no instruments and have never done a musical course, I just follow my hear. I`m 23 hailing from Italy but living in the UK. :)
  5. Hi everybody, this is the first track I`ve written for what it s gonna be my solo project. The song is very simple divided in 4 movements: introduction, atmospheric part, blooming part and conclusion. The voice is the "choir ahhs and the cello". I particularly like the song for the space it gives to me to sing on it. Free file hosting by Savefile.com I hope I don`t waste 7 minutes of your life and let me know your impressions, positive or negative, it doesnt matter as long as they are motivated. Thanks P.s.=as usual, the mixing is very simplistic.
  6. I would be brief: sometimes I compose some parts in my songs which have the pop cahracteristics in terms of melodies and stuff like that and I could get told anything, that it is not nice or whatever but I would get well mad if accused of being the creator of "fast-music" which I did not neither care nor feel. Don`t like it? Don`t listen to it! Teens listen to it so does that change anything to you?
  7. I mean, I dont know your concept of rock (elvis or linkin park?? So broad...) but I definetely agress with DOFTS. This is progressive :)
  8. Just to remind this ad :) Composers contacted so far have been asking for a huge amount of money which is out of my reach (I think they supposed I`m financed by some label or smtg cuz there s not way I can pay that) so, I revive this post to see if there is somebody interested. Thanks
  9. This "beast" and the second track in the myspace player are killers! In the second one, I really like the drum beats!!! Proper hardcore electronic music, no f***ing around :) !
  10. Einstuzende Neubaten (or something like that) uses loads of made-up instruments otherwise...this band called A (MySpace.com -
  11. Yea, I listened briefly to the other stuff that was in the profile but I thought it wasn`t yours. That is definetely good, to be versatile! Regarding this song, I didn`t enjoy it particularly...I will have a spin again to this track and the others.
  12. Well, not quite my cup of tea...I used to dig this music quite a lot until 4-5 years ago but lately due to extreme repetition of the same stuff, I drifted away. About the song? It is ok, I liked the fact that you used choirs but apart from that it is something I`ve heard too many times. This to say though that, as long as you and you band like it, keep rockin and have fun which is the most important thing. One thing: I don`t understand why you needed to mention in one (or more) of your posts that your friend is...and you played with this band and that band. Does that qualify anything?
  13. Hi everybody, I`m posting here cuz I cannot post in the "collaborative works" section. Sorry if it is in the wrong section. I`m currently composing some material with GuitarPro which is due to be recorder by session players in October-November. The music I`m talking about varies from metal(ish) to quieter parts with rock and classical music as a main influence. What I`m looking for is somebody willing to expand the quiet parts (the classical bits) so that many instruments can be involved giving the orchestral atmosphere. I`m also looking for somebody willing to do the electronic parts, basically the atmospherical-landscapes in the back (something ambient) and some fill ups here and there. You can listen to some of my productions at MySpace.com - Khmer - Brighton, South - Hardcore / Experimental / Melodramatic Popular Song - www.myspace.com/khmermusica Any musical background is accepted as long as the aforementioned final direction is known. :) Contact me via PM or email me at coarspire@hotmail.com Thanks
  14. Thank you Robertn for your review. Very much appreciated, even because you criticise quite a lot so it is good so I can think about it and possibly improve. I will try to answer few questions you raised: -I called it post core because the mainstream ( :( ) calls it that way. If it is for me, we can even call it new-roman-catholic-path-of-crucifixion-prog and I will be happy anyway :) -The song has been done with GuitarPro and the sound that came out it is from the RealSoundEngine embedded with it. Strings and brasses are general midi though so the quality lacks. The thing is, I need to draw the concept and idea, it doesn`t necessarily have to sound amazing, sound quality-wise, at this point. That it s what I want to achieve in November with real instruments and when it will get properly mixed and mastered. I might keep strings (except violin) and brasses done with a software but surely it will be some nicer quality one than midi. Sorry about the actual quality though ;) -I didn`t like when you mentioned the metalcore breakdown because it is everything but a metalcore breakdown. As they word might suggest, it implies slowing the tempo which I dont do. I rather go mathish if you want :D -I didnt get what you meant with this("this composition is ok, but i can tell you're not comfortable in this genre yet."). I never had musical theory lessons and I`m not able to play any instruments but I try and I will until I get bored to do so. Then I might stop... As a consequence, some parts are surely not what they could be if better musical knowledge would be applied (meaning that instead of the 60 hours or so it took me to write it, it would take a couple...) Thank you for your review again
  15. Thank you very much Pliorius for your review. The clapping sound is scraggy, I know...I put it cuz when I`m gonna get it recorded by "humans" I will put some real clappin and the part will be with a folk rhythm and screamo voice. I`ll probably sing on it some parts here and there, let s see. Once again thanks.
