hi, i really ask for your help. I've been taking compostion lessons since last year, but i find myself kind of "incomplete" and that's because all my lessons were focused to contemporary music. The point is that i know i need to know how to compose in baroque, classical, romantic and impressionist styles... i know there is no specific way of doing that but i request you to help me in order to discover what makes a style different from another (i'm not refering to harmony specifically, i refer to compositional techniques and ways to develop melody in relation to rythm... stuff like that) i mean... what makes a style really different from another if the tonal "system" is the same. Perhaps things in common form each musical period that made it unique.
I really apreciate your help , thanks again!
