  1. Thanks ^^
  2. I can improvise till the cows come home and never get tired of it. Something interesting always comes from it. To get good at improvising just need to have the scales and chords all like a second language so that you don't have to think when moving to a new chord. The problem I have is I have a Monumental difficulty taking peices I make and putting it on score sheet mainly dealing with rythmic issues, but I may try recording to a midi as I have a midi Weighted Piano.
  3. Listening to it on Rhapsody and I love it just as much as the orchestra rendition. My fav. part Venus is so great.
  4. Get Hanon Book of Exercises and a book of scales with chords and arpeggios learn both those books and learn to sight read like a second language and you will have no problem playing much of anything really. I can't play that well yet I've only been threw like 30 something hanon exercises. (PS: Always follow exactly the fingering markings for hanon as it is designed to build strength and agility in the fingers that are more akward to play with, 4 and 5 mainly, esp. to do trills with)
  5. I can't seem to figure out how to notate a minor trill as I cannot add an accidental to the trill and I see no option to modify the trill.
  6. Ok I figured out how to add midi. It doesn't sound too bad with midi, but to hear how it would sound if performed mp3 will give the best idea of that and my server is pretty fast. (mp3 uses Garritan Orchestra Sounds with ambience Reverb.) Thanks Dance_of_the_Spring_Flowers.MID
  7. Hello I have been working on this peice, but it is only come to 1:14 even though I make so much melody I guess because its really fast tempo of 120 and its 8th notes. Its meant to have a dance type feel to it as the piece is called Dance of the Spring Flowers. It is for a duet of violins and meant to have a classical feel. Here is the mp3: http://www.romeojguy.com/music/Dance%20of%...owers%20pt2.mp3 If you guys want I can see how to do a midi file as I only know how to make a .MUS file. PS: Forgot to mention it is done in F Minor
  8. I did not like it at first but once full orchestra began I really liked it.
  9. How do you write out drum rolls, flams, and diddles on a sheet music I tried google search and just can't find any example sheet music showing a roll flam or diddle.
  10. Do you have alot of empty measures after it with just whole note rest or whatever needed for your time signature.?
  11. You can buy the rest of the sounds from the full orchestra for like 189 from finale make music site. It comes in a dvd case. And has all the sound that did not make it into the condensed version included free with finale 2006 This is the basic instrument list: http://www.finalemusic.com/finale/features.../garritan2.aspx And here is the additional sounds package for purchase for 189 dollars: http://www.finalemusic.com/finale/features...onalsounds.aspx
  12. I play the electric and acoustic some and basically how electric works is it sends the sound through a wire analog signal, so if you put a device inbetween it and the speaker it can change the sound to whatever it fancies for output, for example my effects board I have lets me play things like acoustic sounding, solo lead sound, bass sound, eric clapton guitar type sound, etc. Basically the main factor to the final sound will either be an effects board or other pedal type devices or even the amp itself many times have some basic sound modifiers to do distortion effect, so no different in guitar. What is a main factor are the pickups on the guitar as these are what pickup the vibrations of the strings, if they are a poor quality then the sound will not be a great quality, etc. Another factor are that some guitars are built to support a whammy bar which provides additional effects to player. My fav. guitar is the fender strat. Hope this helps.
  13. But for an Orchestra you cannot achieve the same quality unless a real one is playing it, certain techniques and interpretations just can't be represented by the computer currently such as playing closer to the bridge of a violin or closer to the fingerboard, etc. And myself think that one should always strive to keep your sheet music professional looking because you should always do things for where you want to be not where you are at now. If you want to be a professional then create a professional looking sheet music.
  14. I think hearing notes hurts the focus of a peice. At least for me so I like to try not to use Finale as often because I am tempted to just go crazy and stuff and loose focus of the melody I was trying to do. So for my piano peices I just like to write them on a paper or store them in my memory if I am having trouble putting it to paper and write it out later.
  15. I find that I can write much better stuff when I am on the piano when I just let loose but have a hard time starting on a peice of blank paper without instrument and coming up with something. I think I have a hard time imagining the notes without hearing them. But I guess its because I haven't had much training on composition, getting a Harmony and Counterpoint book soon though.
