'salamat' means 'thank you.' for 'salamat, o, aming Ama' means 'thank you, oh, our Father.' =) i started reading music theory two years ago. i don't always right pieces. just when i'm in the mood. this was actually written for an amateur choir. i bet you're right for that. thanks for listening mr. cheeselord. :phones:

hmmm.. this isn't the final recording. they just asked me if they can record the piece after they've seen it. i'm thankful that they'd loved this one, and enjoyed the recording. maybe it will be recorded again in october. it'll be fine if you'll throw any criticism. since i am not a music student and i can tell that i don't play any instrument. but thanks for that jawoodruff. :happy: thanks vernon ;)

a short prayer in tagalog text Salamat, O, Aming Ama for SATB. this was sung by 5 people (a group of organists). sorry for the dynamics and other stuff here. feel free to give any constructive criticism. james ;) i'm sorry. i don't know how can i move the thread. this should be posted at chamber & solo vocal works.

i understand why some of the parts doesn't have their text below the staff, but being a member of a choir, it will be difficult to read the text on that way. m40, 5f's as dynamics, and lower mi for bass? i don't know if that would be heard will a real choir (but with consideration with the bass 1 also singing mi). overall, this is a great piece. i love this work. :)

to tell you honestly.. that sounds very 'foreign.' but it's really up to you. it's nice to hear other people, or other races, speaking, or in this time, singing our laguange.

you deserved it.. :D another great piece from you kuya matt. i really love your writings. :thumbsup: i don't know where you learn tagalog, but it seems that some of the words in the piece doesn't fit how it is really pronounced, i mean the stress. still, nice try for that. i wanna emphasize the translation of the lyrics "close your eyes and rest your head." the following might give the correct translation based on tagalog grammar. "ipikit ang 'yong* mga mata at ipahinga ang 'yong* ulo" rather than "isara ang mata mo at ipahinga ang ulo mo" * 'yong - is the short term for iyong, which corresponds to the english word 'your.' here is a guide in the pronunciation of the other tagalog words included in the phrase.. i-pi-kit' m-ga' ma-ta' i-pa'-hi-nga u'-lo thanks for continuosly sharing your music. what i really loved at this piece, is of course, your decision of including tagalog words in your music. it's really nice and sweet to hear it. filipinos will surely love you when you become a famous composer/choral conductor someday. i wish this won't be the last time you'll use our language.
