  2. Hello, pliorius, First, I'm sorry about your friend. Second, your piece certainly sounds like a requiem. You were successful in creating a mournful mood. The use of the beating drums near the end was very effective. Some things I might have done if I had written the piece: I would have written some sort of melodic counterpoint along with the slow-moving notes that dominate the piece. I might also have broken away from the static quality created by the slow-moving notes, almost always played at the same rate. I might have developed some scheme for altering the rate over the course of the piece, in order to move toward a climax and then come down off the climax. No matter, I think the piece is successful! -Lou
