  1. Hello, thanks a lot for the information Jazzooo! I compose with Anvil Studio. I'll explore my program to find something to allow me to convert. If it works, I'll upload my works the way they must be heard.
  2. Hello, someone asked me to explain my method of combining improvisation with cold calculations. This is what I have to say: Let's begin wit the title; "Scale of Turn-offs(Spontainiety and cold calculations). The second part refers to the method of contrasting theory with improvisation. The first part, is my reaction to the piece. Most of the controlled part is based around a scale whereas the improvised bits turned me off a bit the first time I heard them(Don't worry, the whole thing grew on me eventually). When I would write the coldly calculated notes, I would base them around a sequence, almost like a mathematical equation and I'd repeat that sequence a few times. With the improvisation, I'd sit down at any moment of the day to compose and randomly press keys on the keyboard and save whatever may come out of it. What you hear is the result of this.
  3. I was hoping one of you two could help me stop making my compositions sound like a MIDI file? Is there any program or website that can record the composition or convert it to how I hear it so you could hear it the same way?
  4. I was hoping someone would review this piece before I upload the other ones I've finished....
  5. If you have heard one of my previously posted works, I have good news for you: I've got one more piece for you to listen to. If you haven't heard my previously posted works, "Ode to Pavel" and "Requiem for Nicole", I'd recommend you to look for them around this website. "Scale of turn-offs" is a piece I finished a few months ago but I forgot about posting. It has a concept: The 10+ minutes it lasts, combine improvising with a very precise, careful system of placing notes. Scale of turn-offs.mid
  6. So, lately I came up with a thought: Is there any possible way for me to show you how I hear the piece? And is there any possible way for you to show me how you hear the piece? I'm asking, so we can compare and I can see how different it sounds in your computer, Matt.
  7. Hello, Matt. Thank you again for taking the time to review and for giving me more information regarding MIDIs. Let me explain you how I composed those two pieces: I have only two instruments at my house, an Ibanez electric guitar and a little beginner's keyboard that I own since the age of 4. Using them, I began writing down the notes and some ideas for the pieces. Then I downloaded this program named Anvil Studio. I needed that program because I wanted to work with more instruments(E.g. violin). I forgot to mention that the other reason why I downloaded that program was because I don' have any way to record myself playing. I'll look up those programs you mentioned and test them. And thanks for your comments on "Ode to Pavel". Oh, and that idea that you mentioned of realistic sounding instruments, yeah, I should give it a try. I would like to listen to it.
  8. Hello, thank you so much for reviewing! I was so anxious when I saw the review. It makes me really happy to learn that you enjoyed the piece "Requiem for Nicole". I have heard something related to the variating audio quality of Mid files but I have never experienced it myself. Should I convert the pieces to MP3 by using a program and then re-upload them? And I was wondering, have you heard the other piece yet? What are your thoughts on it? Thank you.
  9. Hello, I decided to leave my shyness aside and share with you two of my finished works, the only ones I have on my computer. The first one, "Ode to Pavel", is a piece I wrote as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, Pavel. It's over 10 minutes long, I wanted it to express what I personally felt about the relationship this far, so there are many changes in the movements. And the other one, "Requiem for Nicole" is dedicated to my good friend Nicole, who passed away a few months back. I hope you'll enjoy the music. I'll post the music notation once I figure how to pass it on to the computer. Ode to Pavel.mid Requiem for Nicole.mid
  10. The pieces I wouldve loved to compose are the ones I havent made yet. But,if we talk about the work of someone else,I should say: 1.Ghost World Theme-David Kitay 2.I will crumble-Jim Steinman(simple, yet penetrating) 3.Happiness is a warm gun-The Beatles 4.Aquarela-Toquinho Im sure theres alot more that would
